Work Text:
Kris Dreemurr needed to die.
That's what they thought to themselves as they stewed to themselves in Castle Town. To say the last day had been a rollercoaster for them would be an understatement. Even without everything that happened in their fathers shop…
The festival. The festival was yesterday, and it was… a conflicting and confusing and all around mess of a situation inside of Kris’ head. They didn’t want to think about it. It’s all they could think about.
Kris was not a good person. They reckoned with that thought long ago. How could they be, doing such terrible things behind their friends backs? And yet… whenever they were with Susie, that feeling could be dulled if only just a bit. They held it together well enough during the festival, even though they knew it wasn’t really THEIR day. It was Susie's. And Noelle’s. Noelle.
The first time Kris saw that yellow door constructed overnight in Castle Town, they nearly threw up. The words that Susie had spoken to them late last night after sealing the fountain(s) in the flower shop echoed behind them-
* This…. Can’t just be our adventures anymore.
-the thought made them want to die. They deserved this. Beneath the surface, they were a horrible person. It was only a matter of time before they hurt Susie, hurt Ralsei. But they had to do this. They had to. They promised.
And… it was fine, right? Because they couldn’t deny how happy Susie and Noelle seemed at that lake. There’s another strike against Kris’ redeemability. What kind of friend would be resentful when their best friend just had the best moment of her life? Awful. It was awful. It was too much.
There were moments throughout the night that Kris wonders if it would hurt less if Susie just put them in the trash where they belonged. But no. Susie always made sure to bring them along. Susie always made sure that they were somewhat included.
It made them so happy. It felt like they were just being teased, mocked. It made things all the more worthwhile. It made them wish they could wither away.
Especially with Noelle there. Noelle. Why did it have to be this way? Noelle had everything during the festival, and now she’s here to take the last nice thing Kris was holding onto? It felt like a betrayal for all they’d been through as children.
Eugh. Too many thoughts. There were too many thoughts in Kris’ head and they didn’t know what to do with it. It was like a ticking pendulum. They were selfish, but they wanted to be selfish. No that's not true. Yes it is. Noelle was the problem. How could you say that. But its true.
There’s a word for that, right? When someone takes up all your thoughts. When the thought of them made your head just want to burst. A strong emotion reserved for a truly serious moment. Four letters, two vowels. The last letter is E. Do you know what it is?
Yes. Kris thinks that they **** Noelle.
Kris entered Castle Town like a dead-human-walking. They might as well be, at this point. The first thing they saw as they entered the plaza was Noelle and Susie. Of course, cuddled up with each other.
But then, Susie noticed Kris, and immediately jumped over to them. Her arms felt like the first rays of the morning sun. Warm. Caring. A sign that the long night was finally over. They wish that they wouldn’t. They wouldn’t give it up for the world.
But as Susie was needling them about a lack of sleep or something or other, they looked over. Noelle, alone on the bench. Glaring at them. A sliver of Kris’ soul wanted to gloat. How awful.
Apparently, the group of them were planning a sort of tea party for the morning before school. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe they should say something. A tugging at their soul wanted to say something.
When Susie left to go grab some more tea, it was the perfect moment. Kris walked up to Noelle and mustered up all the courage they could manage. They wanted to talk to her about Susie.
…
Kris Dreemurr needed to die.
Haha, okay, that’s a bit far! Lets not get hasty here, but a dark seed lying deep within Noelle’s brain did think this thought, before getting promptly discarded.
The last couple hours… gosh. It’s been a real rollercoaster of emotions. Learning all about these… ‘Dark Worlds’ and that the dream she had a couple days ago with Susie wasn’t actually a dream! It’s real! This is all real!!
And then, yesterday. The festival. Her date with Susie. It still feels weird to use that word. Date. Date!! She had a Date!! With SUSIE!!!
And… Kris.
She didn’t mind that Kris was there. Every time she looks at them, they remember the days that they used to have. And they aren’t bad memories at all. The days before…
Truly, if she had a problem with Kris being there at the festival, she would have said so, right? But despite that, it went off basically without a hitch. (Well, her father collapsed in the evening, but thankfully he’s in stable condition.)
Her memories pull her back to being carried over the water. The water she’d eyed up so many times in the past, as a what if? When she was held up in Susie’s arms, it was like she was flying above that water. An impossible scenario, made possible, all because she chose it. Forget the water, she should be over the MOON right now! And she is! Really… really. She is.
…Why is she upset?
More memories of that day bounce back into her mind. Sharing the ferris wheel. Just the two of them, alone… until Susie wanted to try and get their attention through the muddied glass. Getting and sharing ice cream… Susie wanted them to lick the drippings off her hand (which she quickly put a stop to.) A future-plan to visit the diner, where she can have… the leftovers.
It’s… not right. The thoughts she has when she thinks about Kris. The thoughts she has when Susie mentions them by name. It’s not like she’d ever actually do them anyways so no point dwelling on it. She already got her wildest dreams turned true. They had done basically everything but a true-****’s-kiss. She won, in the end. She should be happy. She should be happy! So why?
It’s like when they were younger, when Kris would prank her or pull some shenanigan. They were always just so… irritating! Even now! Why couldn’t her memories and feelings just be hers!? Every time Susie’s face flashed through her head, there was Kris in the background. Even when Susie was showing her around Castle Town, it felt like every third sentence was predicated by “If Kris was here, they could…” and it was driving! Her! Bananas!!!
Why couldn’t she get Kris out of her head???
The breaking point was while they were all in Castle Town, and the two of them were cozied up. Ralsei- that cute fluffy goat thing that looked like Kris brother- had left to get the two of them some tea. That's when Kris arrived. That's when Susie lept from their spot to rush over to see them. It was nothing, really. Nothing at all. But the look in Kris eyes, direct into hers, as Susie started teasing them about how sleepless they looked was too much. This had to stop.
Susie went to go help Ralsei with the tea, and Kris came up to her. Of course, she swallowed all those feelings she had been stewing in and replied bright and chipper. Its what good girls like her do after all. (Even if she was exploding their head with lasers in her mind. Just for a second.)
…They wanted to talk to her? About Susie?
She watched as Kris looked around. Too many of these cute creatures and citizens were around. This felt… private. A horrible lump formed in Noelle’s throat. What could this possibly have meant? Was this about what happened at the festival? No matter. It was fine. If Kris wanted to leave the Dark World just for a minute to talk, that was fine.
Noelle wanted to talk to them about Susie too. Alone.
Noelle thinks that she ****'s Kris.
…
Kris had no idea what they were doing. What the hell were they doing? They didn’t even WANT to talk to Noelle about Susie, but… that which was inside them guided their heart. And now they were walking with Noelle to the light world.
Honestly, they didn’t even know where they were going. They just kept walking, one foot after the other. As if to buy more time. As if that when they reach their destination, wherever it is, they’d actually have something they were willing to say.
Oh, don’t get them wrong. They had a million things they WANTED to say. They wanted to talk about how Noelle and Susie make a really good couple. They wanted to talk about how scared they were about being left behind. They wanted to talk about how sorry they were for what they were doing behind her and Susie’s backs. They wanted to talk about how sorry they were for D
No. No no no no no. The emotions are boiling over now. A black bile emerging from the depths of their heart. They can’t think about that right now. They need to just… something. They need to do something but they don’t know what they need to do so they’re just going to keep walking and they’ll figure it out. Walk… walk… walk! Out the door, out the school. Onto the street. Noelle is still following. Her doe-eyed look is… different. It looks more… stern? Confident? Something.
What are they even doing at this point. They can’t go down the street where there’s people and cars driving by, so Kris just… start walking around the school. Out around the side, and to the back.
* “Kris…?”
They make it to rougghhhllyyy the back of the school before Noelle finally speaks towards them. Looks like the jig is up. Maybe they can play this off as a practical joke. That’s honestly the best they’ve got right now; their brain bandwidth is currently taken up by too many painful memories and constipated words for anything else.
They turn around to face Noelle. She isn’t smiling.
* “Do… you have a problem with me being with Susie?”
…right. They’re doing this, then. Noelle looked serious. Whatever eyes peeked out of their blinding bangs, she was looking dead centre into them. Down, into them. Kris doesn’t respond. They were never good at talking, especially not under pressure. So they just sit there and look, unflinching. Their entire core taut with tension.
* “Kris… I don’t… know exactly how you feel… about me or… about Her. But…”
Those oppressive, claustrophobic emotions are raging all throughout Kris’ head now. Only made worse from Noelle walking closer to them; the height difference between the two becoming all the more oppressive. All they wanted was to just find happiness with Susie. That's all. So Why? Why was this happening? Of course, someone like them deserved this outcome; but it doesn’t make it any less painful, so why?
* “...Susie likes me, Kris. Please don’t get in the way of that.”
With those words, everything that was stewing inside Kris’ head burst like a balloon. They could feel their core shaking. They bit down, drawing a bit of blood on the inside of their lip. Hot tears were pooling at the corners of their eyes. In a single moment of impulse, they balled up every emotion they had into their hand, and swung.
…
Noelle’s anxiety only builds as Kris leads her out of Castle Town, and even further down the hallways and out of the school. They wanted to talk to her about Susie. About her… well, they hadn’t labeled anything yet, but what they had was special. And nothing could get in the way of that. Not anybody, and certainly not Kris.
Kris just wouldn’t… get it. What life feels like from behind the glass. Kris wouldn’t understand what its like watching the world pass by, revolving year after year, and having it just… happen. When Dess first left, it felt for a moment like the entire planet stopped. But what weighed Noelle down more than that feeling of loss was watching how the world just spun itself back up again. Slowly, it began once more. Like nothing ever happened.
Kris wouldn’t understand what it's like to be a slave to fate. Like your actions aren’t your own. Like you’re just going through the motions, picking the right dialogue options, being the perfect little thing. When Noelle watched Susie, even when she was (admittedly) awful, there was a spark of jealousy. How nobody told Susie what to do. How Susie seemed to defy everything. When the world spun forward, Susie walked backwards.
Maybe that's why Susie was so special to her. From afar, Susie seemed so tough and brash, but once the two of them started talking it was… nice. Soft. there was something about that dream… and that time in their house. Seeing Susie like that made Noelle realise that she wasn’t an anomaly. Noelle tried to be caring and thoughtful, often to her detriment. But Susie, she could be kind and thoughtful, and still make her own future. It made Noelle feel safe. Like no matter what happened, Susie could handle it. That change was possible. Whereas, Kris…
…Oh, Kris. They were outside now. She had spoken up to stop, lest they walk forever. Despite being in a decently secluded spot, Kris wasn’t talking to her, even when prompted. Oh, Kris…
It’s not like Noelle was unsympathetic to an extent. After the incident, Kris too seemed to just detach. Withdraw from everything. She knows that they looked up to Dess quite a bit, but Kris never felt truly the same after that. A fact that deep down broke Noelle’s heart. Where was that mischievous kid of before? Even if they were annoying, they were… fun. It was an uncomfortable feeling. Looking at them now, they weren’t sure if they should L*** or H*** Kris.
She spoke what was on her mind. And Kris didn’t reply.
…It was annoying. What were they doing? No, Noelle wasn’t going to let this go. She took another step forward and continued talking. Looking Kris directly in the eyes.
…It felt bad. Kris was so obviously crying and every part of her wanted to just say that it was okay and console them and go back to Castle Town and let Kris and Susie have some other adventure. The thought made her want to wring their neck. Even if things were bad, just taking whatever people did to her wasn’t how she wanted to live anymore. That’s what it meant to be with Susie. So she spoke again.
* “Susie likes me, Kris. Please don’t get in the way of that.”
And the next thing that Noelle felt was a balled hand smashing against her nose.
…
Kris is not sure what was scarier, in the moment. That whatever impulse lived inside them strike one of their oldest and best friends, or that it felt good to do. Cathartic. Like a pressure valve was finally released. Like a blister was finally getting lanced, even just a little bit.
Noelle stared back at them wide eyed for a moment. Slowly, she put one of her hands to her muzzle where Kris had struck her, and pulled back. A small drop of blood had formed where the strike landed. She looked back up at Kris.
And screamed.
Not a fearful scream, but one that came from the deepest pit of her being. It was messy, and warbly, and constantly cracking, and she screamed it with as much force as she could while she tackled Kris to the ground.
The spirit in Kris’ bones were kicking up now. This wasn’t like a fight in the Dark World, with turns and acting. This was real. This was Real. They fell down hard onto the patch of grass behind the school they were standing, bumping their head as Noelle slammed down a fist into their chest, knocking the wind out of them. Instinctually, they shot their knee up to kick Noelle in the stomach, twice. It didn’t matter. Noelle slammed down again with a mad fervor, this time smashing them across the temple. Kris’ vision blurred for just a second at this blow, as the world went momentarily white.
In this moment of daze, some familiar words came back to them.
* Kris… oh Kris…
* Is it fun, Kris?
* Playing around like this?
And in that moment of bright whiteness, a small part of Kris accepted this fact.
Noelle yanked at their hair. They in turn pushed forward to headbutt her.
Maybe it was the adrenaline coursing through them. Maybe it was the moment of pressure release that they’d needed. Maybe the pain coursing through their body made them feel alive again for the first time in heaven knows how many years.
Kris took another fist to the face. They could feel something wet above their eye. Yes. They were having fun.
Was that weird to say? Just a moment ago Kris had a boiling resentment towards Noelle. A guilty, ugly resentment. A part of them wanted Noelle to just up and disappear. But now? Kris didn’t want this moment to end. They looked up at Noelle, who was clenching her teeth and looking crazed down into theirs. She’s smiling. A drop of her blood landed on their face. It felt cool compared to the hot tears they had been shedding just a moment ago. It’s like Susie never even existed in this moment.
Susie was someone that Kris felt was irreplaceable. Everything had been so lonely after Dess was gone, after Asriel went away to college, after they…
…Well, Susie never cared about any of that. Susie never cared about the weird things that Kris did, the times they wished they were a dog-monster rather than a human. The times that they said weird things or wanted to mess around. It felt nice. Kris knows that Susie would never judge them for just about anything… and it killed them how they had to lie to her. Maybe she’d **** them. They hope not. But to Kris, Susie was someone who accepted them no matter what they did. That was irreplaceable.
Kris jabs an elbow up into Noelle’s snout as she digs an antler down into one of their ribs.
Kris is scared of this feeling. Of this fun they were having together. It reminded them of the times they had when they were both young. Sometimes after a prank, Noelle would lightly hit them in the shoulder. This wasn’t light anymore, but it was nostalgic all the same.
More than anything, Kris was scared that this violence was their true self. But if that was something that was true… they didn’t mind that it was Noelle they shared this side of themselves with. They don’t mind that it was Noelle who drew that side of their psyche to the surface. If Noelle was someone who could see the ugly bare truth of their wretched soul and happily indulge in that wicked depth… Kris is glad that it was her. It couldn't have been any other person, in the end.
Kris thinks that they **** Noelle.
…
Noelle had seen fights before, somewhat. She enjoyed the martial arts of the different kinds of sentai-shows that came across the TV from time to time. Her and Kris used to play super smashing fighters before, too. So she kind of got the idea of it.
She always thought that she wouldn’t be good if she did get into a fight, if only because she wasn’t as athletic or nimble as the fighters she saw on TV. Even so, it didn’t stop her from having thoughts. Yknow, the normal ones that girls have. Wringing Berdly’s neck when he got too overbearing. Dropping Catti to the floor with a super-kick for the things she says about Susie. Normal girl stuff.
This wasn’t anything like that.
When Kris had struck her in the nose, it… she wasn’t sure what to call it. It’s like something broke inside her. But maybe not. Broken has too negative a connotation. It’s more like a switch was flipped. After everything that she had been feeling about Kris, just to be hit like that?
It felt good to bring them down to the ground. They didn’t even care that their nose was bleeding now. Was that bad? It was probably bad right? But… she didn’t care. The fog was lifted.
Kris tumbled the two of them around, having gotten grip with their feet. Kris shoved their face down into the grass, Noelle in turn jammed an elbow up into their side.
This was nothing like her shows or her games. It was messy, dirty, desperate. Like nothing she’d experienced before. Kris whacked at her shoulder as she tried to wrap her hands around their neck. Everything that she was, and everything she tried to stamp down into the deepest part of her soul was coming to the surface and she was shaking. Once the deluge started pouring out, there was no way to plug that hole. As if on raw animal instinct she just kept going and going and going.
There was something that felt just oh so good about it in a way that was surreal. Was it the taboo nature of picking a fight with someone? That wasn’t the kind of thing that she did. But she was doing it now and the feeling was exhilarating. She was probably smiling right now. No, not out of some “This makes me happy” thought. It’s more complicated than that. It was simply that she was so energized that her face had no choice but to smile. What would Dess think if she saw her goody-two-shoes little sister picking a fight like this? Having her face clawed at, and her own two hands trying to break someone’s ribs? What would Susie think about that?
Susie… She was the person that proved to Noelle that there was more to the world than just moving one-step-after-another. That there’s more to this world than just routine down one path, and the soft drone of the lake’s waves in another. When Noelle was scared, when Noelle felt at her smallest, she knew that Susie would always be there. Susie would help lead the way, Susie would ensure that she wasn’t going to be a slave to fate.
But Kris? There’s something about these feelings that Kris was bringing to the surface. She jams a hoof into their shins. Kris brings another fist up to her mouth. She didn’t care. The taste of pennies in her mouth just drove her maddened state ever forward. Everything feels so… alive. If Susie showed Noelle that there was more to life beyond the glass, then Kris was showing her that she had the power to smash the panel with her own two hands. Susie was always there to hold her when she was weak, but Kris pushed her past her limits to be fierce.
She doesn’t care when Kris knees her in the side. She doesn't care if they punch her in the stomach. She can take it. She reciprocates by twisting their arm back. She looks down at their face, a small stream of blood where skin split above their brow. Kris’ expression was no doubt much harder to read than hers at this moment (and not just because one of their eyes was darkened) but there’s something in their eyes that feels… nostalgic.
When was the last time she saw Kris’ eyes that wide? Well, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? Those days when they butted heads, when they clashed but always found their way back to each other. She was glad Kris wasn't holding back anymore. She wanted to see it more. This side of Kris that had been missing since childhood. She didn’t realise how much she missed it until it was right in front of her. She wanted to push them beyond the border, and be pushed in turn.
Noelle thinks that they **** Kris.
…
* “Hey!”
The two of them are unceremoniously separated from one another by two big purple arms. Stronger than either of them are, surely.
* “What the HELL is wrong with you two!?”
Susie had found them… Susie had found them having their childish fight in the dirt and separated them. Immediately, the adrenaline and fighting spirit drained from their hearts and faces. Before they could even react, Susie had dragged the two of them back towards the school and down into Castle Town.
From what she gathered, healing magic can heal Darkner’s attacks, but these were “Lightner Attacks.” In other words, they’d have to do things the old fashioned way. And while she (with Ralsei’s help) was dressing up the two’s (thankfully surface-level) wounds, she was in equal measure dressing down their pride.
* “I step away for 5 minutes to help Ralsei brew some tea, and you two start trying to kill each other!? What the hell happened to the good times we had yesterday? The ferris wheel? The ice cream? The strength tester?!
Neither of them could respond. It was true that despite coming at it with negative, resentful feelings… they actually did enjoy their fight. But how could they explain that to Susie, to each other?!
* “People are going missing. The Knight could make a new Dark Fountain anywhere. This… this is the last thing that I wanted! Do you think I WANT to see the three of us falling apart like this!? You two-”
Susie sniffles a bit.
* “-are the two kindest people in this whole stupid town so why the hell! Do you two!! HATE EACH OTHER??”
Guilt bubbles to the two’s throats. Susie looks like she’s about to cry. Neither of them have seen such a thing before, but the thought of Susie’s two best friends coming to blows was scary. After everything that she had done to build out this new life for herself, it could come crumbling down in an instant.
Noelle is the first to speak up, breaking the silence.
* “Um… I… don’t **** Kris, Susie.”
Both her and Kris shoot their heads towards Noelle at this. Susie thinks for a second, taking a breath to steady herself before pulling Noelle aside. Yeah alright. This is a “One on One Talk” situation.
…
Outside Susie’s room, she speaks.
* “Okay, seriously, what was that? What did you mean by that??
* “Well, Kris and I went outside to talk while you two were making tea and then…
* “And then?”
There’s another moment of silence, before Noelle loses her balance, falling into Susie’s arms.
* “Whoa whoa! Hey!”
The fight had made her manic, but that was a high she was crashing from now. She sniffled into Susie’s sleeve.
* “Susie… Yesterday… when you said you liked me however I liked you, did you… really mean it?”
* “Huh? Yeah, duh, why wouldn’t I have?”
* “...Do you… like… Kris, that same way?”
* “...Huh.”
The question took Susie off guard. She stopped for a moment, as Noelle, doe-eyed, looked up at her. She was glad that Kris didn’t damage her smile.
* “...Yeah, I like Kris, Noelle. I like them a lot, too. It’s not the same as the way I like you, but… yeah.”
Noelle sighed into her arms. Susie immediately stumbles over her next words.
* “I mean, is uh… is that a problem? I’m… sorry if I ruined our date yesterday cause I dragged them along. If you want, we can do something else later, just the two of us?”
Noelle looks back at Susie, giving her a big grin.
* “...I… well, I think that would be nice… but it’s not a problem. Is it weird that I want Kris to be there too? Isn’t that… not what you’re supposed to do? Mom says that a date’s two people, right?”
Susie blinks wide eyed for a moment; then gives a big chuckle, head thrown back, at that.
* “Who cares what adults think the world has to look like? We can do whatever the hell we want!”
It’s true. Susie never cared about what anybody thought she had to do, and she taught Noelle that she didn’t have to be chained down either.
When she thinks about Susie, she still sees Kris in the background. But maybe that didn’t have to be a bad thing.
…
* “Alright, dork. Your turn.”
The two of them, Kris and Noelle, had swapped places. Susie thought that Kris looked ridiculous covered in Ralsei’s pastel, heart-adorned bandaids. But Kris seemed to like them. In fact, she thought the “battle-scarred’ look was kind of cool.
Susie had thought as the two were swapping out about Noelle’s question. There was a small pit in her stomach as the previous days events replayed in her head.
* “...Hey, be honest with me. Is this… about what I said last night?”
Kris was hesitant for a moment, then nodded. They spoke softly. The first words they’d said all day. They told Susie that they didn’t want to lose her. They told her that they wanted to still be special.
* “...Damn, I’m…”
She looked away from them for a second. She really messed up this one, huh?
* “I’m… really sorry. This whole… adventuring thing. We really do need her on our side but…”
She looked back at Kris, who looks a bit deflated. Maann, she really sucked with words at times. Especially apologies. She’d only ever done ham-fisted ones in front of teachers before. This is new to her too.
* “...I didn’t mean to make you feel like I was replacing you, or anything. Noelle… means a lot to me. I’m not ever gonna deny that. But you mean a lot to me too, you know? I don’t know where I’d be if we didn’t… You know I’d never give that up, even if you hit me in the face!”
Susie brings Kris in for a Noogie, before they make a sharp sound. When she releases them quickly, Kris stays close. Softly as to not agitate another wound, She holds Kris. She can feel them shaking, softly.
* “Uh, So. Like. Noelle was telling me that the three of us… y’know. Uh, only if you wanted to. I don’t know how you feel about her after that…
Kris looks up at Susie. They tell Susie that they want to be closer to the both of them, but that they feel like they can’t. That they’re scared of falling apart.
* “...Hey. I mean it. We’ve been through too much together. If anyone got in our way, I’d kick their ass. After this, we’ve gotta be like, partners-in-crime for life, right?”
Kris doesn't smile back, but leans closer into the hug. That's ok. Susie knows Kris isn't a smiler, and not much of a talker either. Susie ruffles their hair, all the same. She knows what their answer is.
There is something terrible still residing deep inside of Kris. But if Noelle was around, maybe there’d be someone close by who could understand it.
…
She stands outside for a minute. Alone. There’s still a slight guilt in her throat.
Things aren’t going to be easy, from here on out, right? Not even just with the worlds, with the fountains, with the knight… but each other. She’s really going to have to do her best, now that she’s got two of her favourite people at her side, right? Not to hurt them again. She was careless. She’d hurt them once, now. But… she can do better. She knows she can.
She comes back into her room to see the two of them next to each other. Hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder on her bed. The way the two of them are looking into each other's eyes… there was a connection there. That much was clear. Even if they weren't speaking, there was a dialogue happening between gazes. Understanding. You could hardly tell that the two of them had just been beating the hell out of each other 10 minutes ago. The way that Noelle gently wraps another bandaid around Kris’ hand. The way that Kris holds some ice to Noelle’s forehead. It was gentle. That kind of tenderness…
Susie isn't sure if she's ever gonna understand the dynamic between those two, but that's okay. She can take their hands and be their rock. And even if she messes up and trips over her words, she knows they'll be there to catch her.
Speaking of, said hands have really seen better days, probably because…
* “...Hey, y’know, if you want me to teach you both how to properly throw a punch, I’m more than willing.”
She speaks these words with a grin and a flex; and then watches as the two of them turn beet red, collapsing into a heap into each other from the thought.
Susie thinks that she loves Kris.
Susie thinks that she loves Noelle.
