    Summary

    Set roughly 10ish months following the conclusion of the Dominion War, this story is told in two parts:

    Garak finds himself back and forth between his family on DS9 and helping his countrymen rebuild on a rubble-ridden Cardassia.

    Even amongst all the darkness that dogs him while on his home planet, he still finds there are things to be hopeful for.

    Julian has finally cut ties with everything that had held him back. However, even with his enhanced genetics the human body can only tolerate so much and Julian is willing to push his body to every extreme in the name of medicine.
