   A chorus of pleased chittering echoes from the dozen Eridian students gathered around him. Adrian rests beside Rocky near the front, his carapace polished almost mirror-bright, tapping excited notes whenever Grace mentions astrophage.
   "Question!"
   Adrian chirps through Rocky's translation. Grace smiles.
   "Hit me."
   "If astrophage always make heat..."
   "Generally." 
   "...then why today they not?"
   Grace frowns.
   "What do you mean?"
   Adrian points six limbs toward the ocean. Rocky already turns.
