Summary
A Milky with a supply of morphine abuses the trust of a hopelessly addicted, opiate-starved, and painfully alone Experiment to form a partnership that sees them descending through the caves of the Gray Planet together... With the Milky decidedly in charge. To him, this is only a question of survival. Experiments are stronger and more resilient than Milkies are, but not half as smart. By dangling a steady supply of morphine over the weepy Experiment's head, this Milky can secure control over someone stronger than him for protection and, eventually, companionship. An Experiment is better off with a Milky holding his leash anyway.
The relationship is surprisingly symbiotic. The taller, more athletic nature of the Experiment makes him a natural frontliner while the Milky can hang back with a bolt-action rifle. They're staying safer and making it farther in these caves than either of them could have ever dreamed of doing on their own. But the Milky's paranoia constantly mixes in with the Experiment's pathetic need to be desired to create a slew of mishaps and misunderstandings between them. Is this really something that can work long-term?
And what happens when the morphine runs out?
