   Summary

Before Amelie, before redemption, before the Aria became a curse, Seraphine was the first voice The Quietude learned to love. A gifted Mourn Watch apprentice, Seraphine comes to Volkarin Manor to assist Professor Emmrich Volkarin in his research into music, memory, and the dead. Their work begins as compassion and becomes an obsession. Their love is real, tender, and doomed. And beneath the manor, something ancient is listening.
