Work Text:
It was deep into the night, when the couple was sprawled in bed, cooling off, enjoying this intimate warmth. The room was lit by the warm light of a bedside lamp. Spencer lay on his back, his eyes opened and closed repeatedly, like he was slowly drifting off. The light cast shadows on his face, defining his sharp features. Aaron slightly hovered over him, pressing open-mouth kisses down his neck, to his bony shoulders and collarbones, then up to his cheeks and nose. His hands caressed the open skin of Spencer’s waist and ribs.
“You’re so pretty,” Hotch murmured, pressing another kiss to his jawline.
Spencer sucked in a sharp breath. “I’m not pretty,” he laughed nervously. His reaction made Aaron immediately stop what he was doing.
“You don’t want me to call you that?” Hotch was now all serious and the genius didn’t like it.
Spencer shifted a bit, leaning on the headboard. “It’s not that I don’t like it, it’s just…” Spencer rubbed his face. “Men are usually handsome, and pretty is rather used as a mockery. And I know I’m not particularly masculine, I’ve never wanted to be. But I’m also not used to hearing such things as praise.” He hunched up a bit more, like saying it all made him want to hide.
“Spencer, if it makes you uncomfortable...” Aaron started gently, but Spencer interrupted him.
“It doesn’t make me uncomfortable,” he mumbled. “I told you, I’m not used to it, it doesn’t mean that I didn’t like it.” If Spencer now looked back at his partner, he would see a gentle smile on Hotch’s face.
He leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to Spencer’s lips, chaste at first, then another one, lingering longer, until the younger man’s lips twisted into a small smile. Aaron tugged gently and Spencer’s body went with ease, lying back down on the pillows. He looked him deep in the eyes, caressing his cheek, so soft and so gentle. No words were needed now — Aaron looked down at him like he was trying to memorize even the tiniest wrinkles and freckles on his face. Spencer looked him in the eyes, following every shift of his gaze, waiting. Hotch then finally kissed him, fully. Spencer didn’t even know it was exactly what he was waiting for.
Aaron continued his previous activity, moving to his cheekbones, then to his jaw and down his neck. The older man’s big hands trailed his waist, tracing the soft skin there. Every brush of fingers made Spencer’s breath hitch. He knew there was no rush, no pushing forward, simply enjoying the warm, dazed atmosphere that hung in the room. Aaron left a wet line of kisses, slowly making his way from the genius’ collarbone to the sensitive spot right behind his ear.
“You are so pretty and so beautiful, Spencer,” he whispered hotly in Spencer’s ear, lips almost brushing the sensitive skin. “I love when you let your hair go just a bit longer. I love your big doe eyes and your sharp features.” After each phrase he pressed a kiss to some part of Spencer’s body, like he immediately tried to prove it. “You are stunning.”
Aaron kissed him on the lips again, still hot but with no rush, before continuing. “You are also handsome, brave, strong and unbelievably smart.”
Hotch felt Spencer’s palms pushing him just a bit, so he pulled away, watching his partner. “You don’t actually mind that I prefer “pretty” more, or that I’m not trying to be more masculine?”
“Spencer, I love everything about you, literally. Each day I wonder how lucky I am to know a man like you, and more so — to be able to hold you in my arms. You’re perfect for me.” Aaron whispered it right into his lips, tightly squeezing Spencer’s waist into his arms. He then pressed another kiss to the genius’ chest, right by his heart. The warm hands landed on Hotch’s face, pulling him up and closer to Spencer’s own.
“I love you so much, Aaron,” Spencer whispered, his voice wavered the way it always did when his emotions became too much. His chocolate eyes now glimmered brightly. He pulled Hotch in, kissing him gently and holding on to his face like his dear life depended on it. Aaron answered him immediately, giving him whatever he wanted. He would always let Spencer have whatever he wanted and needed — this man deserved the world. What was a small kiss compared to the world?
They continued kissing for a while, pulling away just to press more kisses to another part of the other’s body. They lay tangled together, sharing the warmth and the air, lost in the soft touches and the feeling of exposed skin pressed together, nothing separating them.
It was rare that they had a chance to enjoy each other being exhausted after work, having no time to sleep at all, or being spared just a quick moment of pleasure that had to end too fast as they both needed to get at least some sleep before they had to go on another case in the ungodly hour of the morning. So when they could, they stretched the pleasure as much as they could, simply enjoying the closeness of another person.
With time, the general heat faded, leaving the innocent warmth in the air. The passionate kisses faded into the soft cuddles. Spencer now lay almost on top of Hotch, his head on his chest, listening to the quiet heartbeat, while Aaron played with his hair. Fingers twirled in the long hazelnut locks, twisting and pulling them gently. Spencer liked when Aaron played with his hair, it was calming, always soothing the rush of his thoughts.
“You’re also perfect for me.” Spencer mumbled into the warm skin of his chest, sleepily. Aaron hummed, pressing a kiss to the top of his head.
“I love you, Spencer, and I never want you to doubt it.” He replied, tightening his embrace around the genius. Spencer smiled, sighing in satisfaction. With that, he drifted to sleep, secured in the warmth of his lover’s body and the embrace of strong hands.
