I’m too shocked, too confused, too tired to react as She snakes Her arms around me, rests my head on Her shoulder, touches my back, touches my hair, touches me at all. “Yes. It’s over. Everything’s gonna be okay. I’m safe. We’re all safe. You don’t have to fight anymore. We’re gonna— We’re gonna be okay. I promise. I promise.”
