Wild Geese

Summary:

Charlotte has been dismissed her whole life. At home, at school, even at the Young Carers Assembly. No one sees her. And if they do, they ignore it, because it's easier. Attending the Young Carers events is not something she really enjoys doing, but she goes anyway. At least it's an hour or two away from home.

She does not expect to meet two men, who for the first time in her life, see her, and help her.

Or, Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander set out to look after a kid who has been worn down by life. Through trials and tribulations, they foster her. Along the way, they build a family, and Ilya and Shane have never been happier.

I want to preface this fanfiction with some information. I am not a Canadian, and I have no personal experience or insight into how systems and institutions run in Canada. However, I have spent a lot of time researching information about the foster system in Canada, its processes, practices and history. I will mention the fundamental issues of the Canadian foster system throughout this fanfiction, despite this being a fanFICTION, it is important to be aware of the world around us, and everything is political.
