All I Did Was Dream of You

Summary:

Derapchu is determined to survive a full 24-hour stream, refusing to slow down. Meanwhile, Wifies is exhausted and just wants his boyfriend to finally get some rest. As Derapchu’s energy keeps him awake, sleepy Wifies takes it upon himself to complete a very important mission: get Derapchu away from the computer and into bed.

Notes:

hello ! Small update on me: I’m okay n’ well, i have a lot of chufies drafts that i never got to finish and this one i have barely finished. I thought this would be a good one to publish first for "I’m back" fic. I present, chufies fic but it’s Derapchu doing an 24 hour stream and Wifies just wants his beauty sleep, but Derapchu won’t allow it.

small note: i’d like to thank everyone that has sent positive messages, every single one genuinely means the world to me. I’m happy to have a small audience that enjoys my fics a lot, and to be honest i didn’t expect to be semi-popular. Without y’all I’d genuinely be nothing, thank every single one of you for tagging along my journey <3

Twenty-four hours was, in Wifies’ opinion, an entirely unreasonable amount of time for anyone to spend playing Minecraft. No matter how much someone enjoyed the game, there had to be a point where they finally got tired of staring at the same blocky screen and called it a day. Apparently, Derapchu disagreed—or, at the very least, he seemed determined to prove Wifies wrong by spending every last one of those twenty-four hours glued to his computer.

Wifies’ groaned as his eyes followed the shadow  that was moving like it was having a seizure—which was, sadly, Derapchu. “NO—NO, YOU’RE ACTUALLY SO BAD! YOU’RE TERRIBLE!” Derapchu practically shouted into the microphone, throwing himself back in the chair in pure disbelief. “I WAS SO CLOSE TO GETTING HIS BED! I WAS LITERALLY RIGHT THERE!” Derapchu whined loudly as he rested his face into his hands, mumbling words under his breath like he was casting a spell on the people that were oh, so graciously better than him at a block game. Wifies’ eyes slowly drifted shut, exhaustion finally beginning to win as he sank a little further into the mattress. For approximately three glorious seconds, the bedroom was peaceful—quiet enough that he almost believed he might actually get some rest. Then, without warning, Derapchu’s voice tore through the silence. “WHAT?! HOW DID THAT EVEN HIT ME?” Wifies’ eyes opened again. Of course. Wifies just couldn’t get any peace n’ quiet around here anymore.

Across the room, Derapchu sat at his computer—or, more accurately, Wifies’ computer—leaning so close to the monitor that Wifies was beginning to wonder whether he intended to climb through it. His blue hoodie was impossible to miss even in the dark bedroom, its Pikachu-eared hood pulled over his curly brown hair as always. His brown bunny ears occasionally shifted underneath the hood, twitching whenever something happened in-game, while the gold chain around his neck caught the purple glow from Wifies’ setup—Wifies sore sometimes he can get blinded by it. He had been streaming for hours by that point—far too many hours, as far as Wifies was concerned. He had stopped bothering to keep track somewhere around the time the last bit of daylight disappeared from the window and the sky outside faded completely into darkness. Well, the stream was supposed to last twenty-four hours. Derapchu had announced this as though it were a perfectly normal idea, and Wifies, foolishly, had assumed that meant Derapchu would at least pace himself. He had not. His energy somehow remained exactly the same.

Wifies, meanwhile, was slowly dying—or, at the very least, that was what it felt like. Not literally, of course. Probably. At this point, though, after spending hours listening to Derapchu yell at players who were just better through a microphone from only a few feet away, he was tired enough that he couldn’t be entirely sure anymore. Every loud shout seemed to chip away at whatever little patience he had left, and all he wanted was a few minutes of peace and quiet long enough to finally fall asleep. He lays sprawled across his bed with his phone held loosely above his face, scrolling mindlessly through social media. His black-and-white hair was messier than usual, several of the white streaks falling across his forehead. His floppy puppy ears had long since drooped with exhaustion, and his tail lay completely still beside him. He still wore his black turtleneck beneath his dark gray hoodie, though his purple bandanna had loosened slightly around his neck.

His mismatched eyes struggled to remain open as exhaustion slowly started to take over. Despite how tired he was, he continued scrolling through his phone, barely paying attention to whatever was on the screen in front of him. He scrolled. Blinked. Scrolled again. Blinked once more, each movement becoming slower as sleep pulled him further and further away from reality. At one point, his phone nearly slipped from his loose grip and fell straight onto his face, but Wifies managed to catch it at the very last second. He held onto it for a moment, staring blankly at the screen as if trying to remember why he was still awake in the first place. Then, he’d make it his main mission to drag his stubborn boyfriend to bed.

“Derap.” Nothing. Wifies stared in his direction, waiting for even the slightest acknowledgment, but the only response he received was the sound of rapid keyboard clicks and the faint noises coming from the game. “Derapchu.” “WAIT, WAIT, WAIT—” Derapchu immediately called back, still completely focused on whatever was happening on-screen. “Derapchu.” “ONE SECOND.” Wifies’ eyes narrowed slightly. That was what Derapchu had said twenty minutes ago, and judging by the way he was still glued to the computer, Wifies had a feeling that Derapchu’s definition of “one second” was far different from his own.

Wifies finally gave up and dropped his phone onto the bed beside him, the quiet thud of it catching Derapchu’s attention for approximately half a second. He glanced over his shoulder, one blue eye and one brown eye briefly meeting Wifies’ exhausted stare before turning back toward the monitor. “You okay?” Derapchu asked, his voice slightly softer than before. “No.” The answer came immediately, leaving no room for doubt. Derapchu paused, his expression shifting as a small amount of concern replaced his usual excitement. “What’s wrong?” Wifies looked at him for a moment before answering honestly. “You’re loud.” “Oh.” A pause followed, and for once, Derapchu actually seemed to take the words in. Then he slowly turned back toward the monitor. “Sorry.” And, surprisingly enough, for the next thirty seconds, Derapchu was quieter. Yes—finally, Wifies’ finally wins at something, he almost believed it had worked.

Then something happened on-screen. “OH MY GOD!” Derapchu’s voice immediately shattered the brief moment of silence, making Wifies slowly sit up from where he had been lying. He stared at him for a moment, watching as Derapchu continued talking excitedly to his stream, completely unaware of the exhausted look now being directed at the back of his head. To Derapchu, whatever was happening on the screen was clearly the most important thing in the world. To Wifies, however, it was quickly becoming a test of patience. Thankfully, his camera was off. Wifies had been careful about that from the beginning. As far as Derapchu’s viewers knew, he was simply streaming from someone else’s setup. They knew nothing about the sleepy dog hybrid lying several feet behind him. They definitely knew nothing about the fact that Derapchu and Wifies were dating, that particular detail belonged only to them. And right now, Wifies intended to use boyfriend privileges.

Wifies slowly pushed himself off the bed, moving with the kind of tired determination that came from someone who had already run out of patience hours ago. The movement caught Derapchu’s attention, though not enough for him to actually turn away from his game. “Where are you going?” he asked, still focused on the monitor. Wifies didn’t answer. He simply walked over toward him, his footsteps quiet against the floor. “Wifies?” Derapchu called again, finally noticing the lack of a response. Still nothing. It wasn’t until Wifies stopped beside the gaming chair that Derapchu finally glanced over his shoulder. “Stand up,” Wifies said calmly. Derapchu blinked, confused. “What?” “Stand up, Derapchu.” “I’m streaming.” “I know.” “I’m in the middle of something.” Wifies stared at him for a moment, his expression unreadable despite how tired he looked. “Stand, i don’t wanna repeat myself, Chu.” There was something about the way Wifies said it—his quiet, sleepy voice—that made the single word far more effective than it should’ve been.

Of course, Derapchu just stared at him at first, clearly confused by what Wifies was trying to do. After a moment of hesitation, he slowly stood up from the gaming chair. “Okay…?” he questioned, unsure of what was happening. Wifies didn’t respond, simply taking his place and dropping into the gaming chair with a tired sigh, leaning back as though he had just finished some exhausting journey instead of walking a few feet across the room. Derapchu remained standing beside him, watching him with a puzzled expression. “What are you doing?” Wifies looked up at him, his sleepy gaze barely changing. “Sit.” Derapchu glanced at the chair—then right back at Wifies, then at the chair again. “There is already someone sitting there.” Wifies stared at him. Derapchu’s brown ears twitched. “Oh.” Derapchu then realized—Wifies is implying for him to sit on his lap.

Wifies simply held out an arm, his meaning clear despite the lack of explanation. Derapchu glanced toward the monitor, quickly remembering that the stream was still running. His camera was off, meaning chat could hear everything happening, but they couldn’t see what was going on. Slowly, a mischievous grin began to form on Derapchu’s face as he put the pieces together. “Ohhh.” Wifies immediately gave him a tired look. “Don’t make it weird.” “I didn’t say anything.” “Your face did.” Derapchu looked almost offended. “My face is innocent.” Wifies stared at him for a moment before repeating himself, “Sit down.” And, surprisingly enough, Derapchu actually obeyed. Carefully, he lowered himself onto Wifies’ lap, still facing the computer. Wifies immediately wrapped both arms around his waist and pulled him backward until Derapchu’s back rested comfortably against his chest, Derapchu went silent—completely silent. Wifies closed his eyes, finally—peace. On the monitor, chat continued flying past.

Derapchu leaned slightly toward the microphone, trying to reassure his stream despite the situation. “Nothing happened,” he said, though the grin in his voice made it obvious he knew exactly how suspicious it sounded. Wifies tightened his arms around him in response, causing Derapchu to pause mid-movement and glance down at him. “Anyway,” he continued, his voice noticeably quieter than before, “we’re still doing the 24 hour stream.” A tired groan escaped Wifies as he rested against him. “No, you’re not,” he murmured, his sleepy voice carrying just enough into the microphone for chat to hear. Derapchu immediately froze. For a moment, there was complete silence. Then the chat erupted all at once, reacting to the unexpected comment like a full-blown zombie outbreak.

Pangi: THERES SOMEONE THERE???

Ashswagg: WHO JUST SAID THAT

Derapchu stared at the screen, completely frozen as the realization settled in. Slowly, Wifies’ eyes opened, and the two of them looked at each other. “You spoke,” Derapchu whispered, almost as if he couldn’t believe it. “You’re loud,” Wifies mumbled back, his voice still heavy with sleep. Derapchu blinked, then leaned slightly toward the microphone. “You spoke on stream,” he whispered, though his voice was somehow still loud enough to be heard. Wifies gave him a tired look. “You’ve been speaking on stream for fourteen hours.” Wifies had a point, and Derapchu knew it, but he clearly wasn’t ready to admit defeat. “That’s different,” he mumbled under his breath, just barely quiet enough to pretend he hadn’t said anything. “How?” Wifies asked. “It’s my stream,” Derapchu replied, as if that explained everything. Before he could continue defending himself, Wifies simply rested his chin against Derapchu’s shoulder, and whatever argument Derapchu had been preparing instantly disappeared. Chat continued flooding with questions, demanding answers about what was happening, but Derapchu only cleared his throat awkwardly. “That was nobody.” Wifies stared at him. Derapchu stared straight ahead, refusing to acknowledge the obvious.

Ashswagg: NOBODY??? Yo that sounded like SOMEBODY.

Squiddo: THERES A WHOLE ANOTHER PERSON IN THE ROOM !!

“Just ignore them,” Derapchu said as Wifies’ tail gave a slow, sleepy movement behind the chair. “Ignore who?” Wifies mumbled softly. “Chat.” “Oh.” Wifies closed his eyes again, and Derapchu attempted to return to the game. For several minutes, it almost worked. Almost. The problem was that Wifies was comfortable—far too comfortable. His arms remained wrapped around Derapchu’s waist, his chin resting on his shoulder while his face pressed against the soft fabric of Derapchu’s hood. One of Derapchu’s brown bunny ears brushed against Wifies’ floppy puppy ear whenever he moved, and slowly, without realizing it, his voice began to lower. “Okay, so we’re just gonna…” Wifies shifted, causing Derapchu to pause. “…go over here.” Wifies’ arms tightened. Another pause. “Wifies,” Derapchu whispered. “Hm?” Wifies mumbled sleepily. “You’re making me sleepy.” “That’s the point.” “I have ten hours left.” “No.” “Yes.” “No.” “I literally do.” “You literally don’t.” Derapchu let out a quiet whine.

That whine slowly turned into a quiet laugh. “You can’t just cancel my stream,” Derapchu said proudly, as though he had already won. “I can turn off the computer.” Derapchu gasped. “You wouldn’t.” Wifies opened one eye, and Derapchu immediately covered the power button with his hand. “Don’t even think about it.” Wifies hummed softly. “I am thinking about it.” Derapchu whined again.. “This is sabotage.” “This is bedtime,” Wifies laughed. “It is not bedtime.” Wifies glanced at the clock. “It is very much bedtime.” “…Time is subjective.” “No.” “It is.” Wifies hummed once more. “Get off.” “No,” Derapchu whined. “Darling.” The way Wifies says darling—okay, shut up, Derapchu. “I promised twenty-four hours.” Wifies sighed before suddenly standing, pulling Derapchu up with him. “What are you doing?” “Bed.” Wifies was getting his sleep one way or another. “No!” Derapchu grabbed onto the desk as Wifies pulled him backward. “WIFIES!” Chat exploded all over again.

Squiddo: WIFIES???

Wemmbu: DID HE JUST SAY WIFIES

NearlyAvery: WHAT IS HAPPENING

JumperWho: BRO IS BEING KIDNAPPED

Wifies stopped—and so did Derapchu. For a moment, they both stared at the monitor in awkward silence before Derapchu slowly looked over his shoulder. Wifies looked back. “You said my name.” “You were kidnapping me,” Derapchu protested. Wifies smiled softly. “I was putting you to bed.” He had a point, but knowing Derapchu, he wasn’t going to give up that easily. “Against my will.” Wifies hummed at the accusation. “You’re tired.” They both knew they were exhausted, though Derapchu refused to acknowledge it. “I’m not tired.” He immediately yawned. Wifies just stared at him. “That was unrelated,” Derapchu quickly added. “Of course.” Eventually, Derapchu released the desk and sat back down. Wifies sighed and followed, and Derapchu immediately settled back onto his lap. Neither of them acknowledged it. Chat, however, definitely noticed the silence.

JumperWho: WHY ARE YOU SO QUIET NOW

Squiddo: WHAT IS WIFIES DOING

Pangi: IS WIFIES ACTUALLY THERE

Derapchu squinted at the messages. “No.” Wifies looked at him with an almost offended expression, and Derapchu immediately pointed toward the screen as if silently begging him not to say anything. Wifies, however, only leaned closer to his ear. “You’re a terrible liar.” Derapchu’s face immediately warmed—he felt like it might actually catch fire. And, of course, chat exploded all over again.

Parrotx2: THAT WAS DEFINITELY WIFIES

PrinceZam: WHY IS HE SO CLOSE TO THE MIC

Wemmbu: WHAT IS GOING ON

Derapchu muted himself, mostly out of panic, and the room suddenly fell completely silent. Then he turned around as much as Wifies’ arms would allow. “You’re doing this on purpose.” Wifies blinked sleepily. “Doing what?” Derapchu tilted his head slightly. “Talking.” Wifies hummed. “You told me you liked my voice.” Derapchu felt his face grow even warmer. “That is not the point.” Wifies smiled softly—of course he did. Derapchu knew he was enjoying this. “You also told me I should talk more.” Why was this guy bringing up things he had said in the past? “Not while I’m secretly sitting on your lap during a livestream!” Wifies laughed quietly, and Derapchu stared at him as though he had just committed a crime. “You think this is funny.” “A little.” Derapchu pouted. “You’re evil.” “You’re tired.” “I’m fine.” Wifies simply reached up and gently pushed Derapchu’s hood back, revealing more of his curly brown hair.

Derapchu immediately became suspicious. “What are you doing?” “Nothing.” Wifies began softly running his fingers through Derapchu’s curls, and he immediately went still. “No.” Wifies continued. “Wifies.” He hummed. “Hm?” “That’s cheating.” Wifies gently scratched near the base of one of his bunny ears, causing Derapchu’s eyes to close for half a second before he quickly forced them open again. “No.” Wifies did it again, and Derapchu slowly slumped back against him. “This is manipulation.” Wifies only giggled. “Probably.” “I have a stream.” “You have a bed.” “I have viewers.” “They’ll survive.” Derapchu glanced toward the monitor. Chat was still flying by despite his microphone being muted, while Wifies continued gently playing with his hair. His eyelids lowered, opened, then slowly lowered again. Wifies smiled. “There.” “No.” “You’re falling asleep.” “No, I’m not.” “You closed your eyes.” “I blinked for a long time.” Wifies simply rested his chin against Derapchu’s shoulder again.

“You can finish the stream another time.” “That defeats the purpose of a twenty-four-hour stream.” “You’ve already done fourteen.” “Exactly. I’m more than halfway there.” Wifies sighed. “You’re also sitting on your boyfriend’s lap trying not to fall asleep.” Derapchu immediately turned his head, and Wifies froze. The microphone was still muted. Good. Slowly, a grin spread across Derapchu’s face. “You called yourself my boyfriend.” Wifies stared at him. “You are tired.” “You did.” “I know what I am.” Derapchu’s grin only widened, and Wifies gently pushed his face away. “Go back to your game.” “I thought you wanted me off.” “I changed my mind.” “No, no. Too late.” Derapchu turned around properly, abandoning the game entirely.

Wifies immediately realized his mistake. “Derapchu.” “You said boyfriend.” “Yes.” “My boyfriend.” “Yes.” “My sleepy boyfriend.” “Stop.” “My gorgeous sleepy boyfriend.” Wifies’ ears droop. Derapchu gasped. “There they go.” “Derap.” “You’re embarrassed!” “I’m tired.” “Your ears are literally giving you away!” Wifies reached toward the desk. Derapchu immediately grabbed his wrist. “NO. Not the computer.” “Then behave.” “I am behaving.” “You’re supposed to be streaming.” “Oh, now you care about the stream?” Wifies narrowed his eyes. Derapchu smiled. For a moment, they simply looked at each other. Then Wifies sighed and pulled him closer again. Derapchu settled against him almost immediately. The fight disappeared from him surprisingly quickly.

Derapchu settled back against Wifies’ chest, Wifies’ arms wrapping securely around his middle as he let his head rest slightly against his. After a minute, Derapchu finally unmuted the microphone. “Okay,” he said quietly. “I’m back.” Chat immediately exploded, but he ignored every question and returned to Minecraft—for approximately five minutes. Then Wifies whispered, “Bed.” “No.” Another five minutes passed. “Bed.” “No…” Three more minutes. “Bed.” “…Wifies.” Two minutes later, “Bed.” Derapchu finally laughed. “You’re not going to stop, are you?” “No.” “What if I finish the stream?” “I’ll keep saying it for ten hours.” Derapchu considered this. Wifies absolutely would. He looked at the game, then at the clock, and finally down at the arms still wrapped around him before sighing. “Chat.” Wifies’ ears perked slightly. “I have received…” Derapchu paused. “…an unavoidable scheduling conflict.” Wifies buried his face against Derapchu’s shoulder to hide his smile.

JumperWho: WHAT SCHEDULING CONFLICT?

Wemmbu: ITS THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT BRO.

NearlyAvery: IS THE SCHEDULING CONFLICT WIFIES

Derapchu ignored that one. “So, unfortunately, the twenty-four-hour stream is ending early.” Wifies squeezed him. “Very unfortunately,” Derapchu added, making Wifies squeeze harder. “OW—okay, apparently I’m not allowed to say that.” Chat immediately went insane, and Derapchu quickly ended the stream. The monitor went quiet, and for the first time in fourteen hours, there was no chat, no microphone, no audience. Just them. Derapchu stayed on Wifies’ lap for a moment before leaning back against him. “…You ruined my twenty-four-hour stream.” “You’re welcome.” “I was going to finish it.” “No, you weren’t.” “I could have.” “You were falling asleep sitting up.” “Because you were playing with my hair.” “Exactly.” Derapchu looked at him. “You planned that.” “Yes.” “That’s evil.” Wifies stood, bringing Derapchu up with him. This time, Derapchu didn’t grab the desk.

Instead, Derapchu simply let Wifies take his hand and lead him toward the bed. The moment they reached it, he collapsed face-first onto the mattress. Wifies looked down at him. “Shoes.” A muffled voice came from the pillow. “No.” “Derapchu.” “I streamed for fourteen hours. I deserve to keep my shoes on.” “That makes no sense.” “I’m exhausted.” “That’s what I’ve been telling you.” Silence followed. After a moment, Derapchu lifted his head. “Can you take them off?” Wifies stared at him, and Derapchu gave him an innocent smile. Wifies sighed, but did it anyway. When he finally climbed into bed beside him, Derapchu immediately curled toward him, settling against Wifies as if their entire argument had never happened. Wifies wrapped an arm around him, and Derapchu’s brown bunny ears slowly relaxed.

For once, the room was completely silent. Then Derapchu mumbled, “You know social media is going to be insane tomorrow.” Wifies kept his eyes closed. “I know.” “They heard you.” “I know.” “They heard me say your name.” “I know.” “They definitely think something happened.” Wifies opened one eye. “Something did happen.” Derapchu looked at him. “What?” “You finally got off the computer.” Derapchu stared for a moment before laughing and burying his face against Wifies’ chest. “You’re so annoying.” “And yet.” Derapchu murmured sleepily, cuddling closer, “you’re my boyfriend.” Wifies’ tail gave a small wag beneath the blanket. Derapchu noticed, but for once, he was too tired to tease him about it. But, he can definitely get used to this.
