Chapter Text
It was a new day at the Digital Circus, it had been a while since Caine came back. Even though his fear for his new friends abstracting had diminished, he stills used to feel a bit stressed about it. They were sitting in the main room, leaning on the couches and talking.
Zooble and Gangle were flirting and planning about what they were going to do. "It would be nice to just take a walk around the islands" They said "Yes, it would be" the ribbon girl answered "You guys are welcome to come with us if you want to" she exclamed.
Pomni, Ragatha, Kinger and Caine glanced at them. The ragdoll spoke "That sounds nice, but I think I'll pass this time" "Yes, me too" the jester said. "What about You guys?" Zooble asked.
"I..um..I'd prefer to give You time for yourselves" the ringmaster said. "I agree, You can never have enough fun when You run! I'm sorry, I mean you can have fun together, just the two of You" Kinger opined, after everything that happened he has regained his memory and lucity even in the light, however sometimes he would split to say or do some wacky things.
"Ok, I guess we'll see you later guys" Gangle said as she and Zooble stand up. "Yes, have a good day" Zooble said and the couple went outside.
The four members left stayed talking for a while.
"You know, I kinda miss going to a restaurant, I used to do it in my freetime, it was good" Ragatha said. "What if we head up to the Cafe?" Pomni suggested. "No, it's not the same, I mean, I..I love spending time in there, but" She commented a bit nervous before was interrupted "Yeah, I think I get it" Pomni expressed, with a soft smile.
Caine then cough and spoke "You know, there is this little restaurant world where I used to hang up when I wasn't working on adventures, if You want to, I can open it for you".
"Ah, that's sounds good to me, thanks Caine" Pomni answered" "Yeah, let's do it" Ragatha said cheerfuly "Will You guys come with us?" She asked.
Caine was about to speak up, but Kinger did it first "I prefer to stay here and go to the acuarium, but thanks for the offer". He said calmly.
"What about You Caine?" Pomni asked, looking at him. "Oh I..." He froze, he didn't want to tease the girls but the idea of stay alone with Kinger wasn't so pleassant, even though their relationship had improved a lot, he didn't feel ready for it, but hey, it wasn't something he could avoid forever. "No, thank you my lovely sugar cubes, I'll stay here".
"It's okay, it'll be just me and you Pomni". Ragatha expressed. "Sounds fair" her friend answered.
Caine concentrated and open a portal to the restaurant, he will leave it accesible for them to get back. The two girls waved at them as they cross it.
Once they were alone, Kinger glanced at Caine, he got a bit nervous. "I think we should should seize this moment to send Jax to the acuarium for a while, it always seems to cheer him up somehow" the chesspiece commented as he walked way to the acuarium, "Are You coming?" asked with a soft voice.
"Oh, yes, we should" the former ringmaster said and walked along his creator.
It will be their first day hanging up together, just the two of them, let's see what it has in store for them.
