Caine, the host of the Digital Circus, has his own purpose. To create adventures, to entertain his audience, and to care for the human lives under his care. He had a problem though, a few of them actually.

It builds up with time, gradually exerting a downward pull on the human heart.
No one can escape the vortex of emotion, just as a bird cannot break free from gravity even when flapping its wings. Everything is falling downward. When emotion accumulates day by day and crosses the threshold the heart can bear, everyone will eventually be pulled down.
