“That’ll be all.”
Yellow leaves the room, sighing. Having to be the subservient gem to Yellow Diamond should be easy for her, but with her changes, it’s become difficult.
She sneaks into a room, watching for any other gems before grabbing a box full of stuff. She exits the room slowly, heading for a specific place, the Room of Silence.
Walking down the hallway, she glanced around herself constantly, keeping watch of her surroundings. She gets closer and closer to the Room of Silence when a group of ruby soldiers waking past her, stopping when they see she’s carrying a huge box.
“What’s in the box?” One of the rubies asks, approaching Yellow with suspicion.
"Nothing, it's none of your business." Yellow holds the box up, making sure they can't see what's inside.
"Is that so?" Ruby asks, smirking at the other rubies.
"Yes it is. Now why don't you gems walk along?" Yellow scolds her, putting the box under her arm.
Yellow walks past the rubies, trying to ignore them as they stand there, staring at her. She walks down the hallway, looking back every once and a while to make sure the rubies aren't following her. Yellow sees the door for the Room of Silence, picking up the pace of her walking. She gets closer to the door, lending out her hand to open it. Yellow stops in front of the door, a voice startles her.
"Hello. What brings you here...?"
Yellow slowly twists her head to the side, seeing a fleet of wall gems staring down at her with wide smiles. She stares back at them for a few seconds.
"H...Hello." She replies, holding the box against her chest.
"What brings you here?" They all say at the same time.
"Just going to the Room of Silence..."
They all snicker to each other, looking between one another with wide grins. Yellow raises an eyebrow, confused as to what they're giggling about.
"Someone is already in the Room of Silence." They all say, smirking down at Yellow.
"Who?" She asks, looking to the door.
"A Morganite. She's perfecting her artistic skills." The gems, giggling with each other.
"Oh, well. I suppose I'll have to stay in the hallway." Yellow sighs, sitting against the wall and setting the box right next to her.
She leans over the box, fishing inside of it for something. She grabs and pulls out a notebook, something she'd snuck from the storage room. There was a lot of things inside that room, mainly things considered useless to the Diamonds and to every gem. While these items are considered completely irrelevant to gemkind, Yellow was willing to take them for herself.
Yellow reaches into her gemstone, taking out a glass pen she'd stol-borrowed. She open the notebook and begins writing;
'Log Report 1. This will be the documentation of...'
Yellow takes a second, glancing over at the box full of items. She taps the pen against her face, thinking thoughtfully.
'...me learning about myself. I will be testing many skills to see what I am good at while learning my own individuality."
Yellow closes the notebook, safely hiding it within her gemstone.
"What's in the box?" The wall gems all say cheekily, startling Yellow again.
"None of your business..." She responds, glancing up at the gems.
They all giggle to themselves, trying to see what's inside the box. Yellow puts her arms over the box, covering it.
“We’ll find out eventually, we always do.”
Yellow scoffs, opening the box a smidge to grab something.
Her hand shuffles around inside the box until she grabs something. Pulling it out, she sees that she’s taken a streamer.
“Hm, I guess I’m doing this one first…”
Yellow stands up, twirling the streamer in her hand for a few seconds before moving to the center of the hallway. She begins dancing around, twirling the streamer in sync with her movements.
Yellow dance’s elegantly, moving like a ballerina. As she raises her leg, the streamer gets caught up on her leg, making Yellow stumble.
“Oh…! My goodness…”
Yellow tries to get the streamer off her leg, hopping around the small space of the hallway. She tries to grab it and pull it off, which makes her fall over.
“Woah!” She yelps as she lands on the floor.
The streamer, now wrapped around Yellow’s ankles, makes the wall gems giggle loudly.
“Would you all shut up?!” Yellow yells at them, the giggling coming to a halt.
She groans, slowly unwrapping the streamer from her ankles. When she finally gets it off, she throws it into the box. Yellow fishes around for something else, grabbing some crystals from the box.
“Maybe this’ll be more enjoyable…” She mumbles, sitting down near the wall.
Yellow holds the crystals in her hands, taking a few breaths before changing the structures of the crystals.
Almost every gem, no matter their status, had the ability to change the shape of basic, non living crystals. (This is something I made up that, I’m pretty sure, isn’t canon to the original show.) Yellow pauses at times, deciding what she’ll make. She takes her precious time forming each part of the sculpture.
After a few long minutes, she sets the sculpture. It’s Blue Pearl in an elegant pose, the crystal’s shimmering beneath the lights above Yellow.
“Looks as beautiful as always…” She mutters, her cheeks slightly flushed.
“Who’s that?”
“Ah!” Yellow yelps out, continuing to forget the wall gems.
“Who’s that?” They all repeat, grinning from…wall to wall?
“N…No one! It’s none of your guy’s business!” Yellow holds the sculpture against her chest, hiding it.
“We’ll find out eventually. We always find out…” They reply ominously, continuing to grin.
“Sure you will…” Yellow scoffs at them, putting the structure into the box carefully.
Yellow fishes around the box again, unable to take anything interesting. She eventually gives up, choosing to wait a minute before trying again. She closes her eyes, her mind drifting away into the pits of her imagination.
She starts to imagine herself and Blue, sitting together while stargazing.
"Blue...I want to tell you something..." She says, glancing over at Blue to see her expression.
"Yes...?" She replies, turning to face Yellow.
Yellow takes a moment to prepare herself, nervous to say what she's thinking about.
"I....I want to be with you....forever. I...I know I've already said that, but I mean that I want to be in a real romantic relationship with you...!" Yellow confesses to her, holding Blue's hand in her own.
Blue stares at her blankly, not responding at all. Yellow waits for her to react or even say something but nothing.
"Blue....? Is something the matter...?" She asks her, her anxiety growing.
Blue finally reacts, pulling her hand away from Yellow.
"Yellow, I....I don't think that'll work." She finally says, looking away from Yellow.
"..." Yellow stares at her, completely heartbroken.
"Who's Blue?"
Yellow shoots up, yelping out. She looks around frantically, before realizing that she's still in hallway and the wall gems were giggling at her.
"Can you guys just stop?! I'm surprised that you haven't been shattered yet!"
The wall gems finally shut up, shocked by her yelling that out.
"Well, it appears that makes you all shut up." Yellow scoffs at them, rubbing her eyes.
Yellow waits a moment, awaiting the wall gems to start whispering to each other or to start laughing about something, but nothing happened.
"Are you not going to say anything?" Yellow looks up at the wall gems, confused at their silence.
They all shake their..faces in response. Yellow notices their present lack of smiles and laughing from earlier.
"Apologies. Even though you are incredibly annoying and you are giving me a headache, I should not wish being shattered on another gem."
"Okay, we accept your apology!" They all say, immediately going back to smiling.
"Sounds good...I suppose..." Yellow sighs exhaustedly, resting her head on her hand.
"So, who's Blue?" They all ask, raising their eyebrows.
"You don't need to know that, especially since I do not want you rambling to other gems."
"We won't. We keep secrets really good!" The wall gems all grin to Yellow.
"Either way, I will not be telling you about anything." Yellow crosses her arms, shaking her head in disagreement.
The wall gems all begin to giggle, already going back to their habits.
Yellow rolls her eyes at them, taking out her notebook, along with her pen from her gemstone.
'This has been both unsuccessful and successful. While dancing with the streamer failed tremendously, sculpting with basic crystals was very fun to do and interesting. I'll continue my documentation further.' She jots down onto her notebook.
As she puts the items back into her gemstone, the doors to the Room of Silence open. The Morganite slowly exits the room, along with another pearl and a ruby soldier. Yellow stares at them, surprised to see three gems, Morganite notices the staring and stops walking, putting her attention onto Yellow.
"Is there an issue?" She asks with a sharp, stern tone.
"Oh, not at all. I'm simply that there were other gems alongside you." Yellow stands up, dusting herself off.
"Is that so? Well, I'm sure a gem like you has better to be doing than sitting the floor like a useless fool."
Yellow stares back in disbelief at her words.
"Well then, We should get going, I have far more important duties than speaking to a useless gem like yourself. Follow along you two." Morganite starts walking away, gesturing that her pearl and ruby follow.
"Of course, my Morganite!" The pearl responds, swiftly going to her side, the ruby following beside her.
Yellow watches until they turns around the corner out of sight. She grabs the box, making sure that nothing is missing before walking towards the room of silence. She'll be a while to say the least.
