Summary
Wilson was running out of time. He had cancer, Thymoma specifically. He decided against telling House he has cancer because the younger man didn’t want the Diagnostician looking at him any differently, or as James knew he would do, force him to take treatment.
Wilson chose to spend his last days doing something he loves, focusing on his loved ones. The Oncologist has done this every day but what was different was the frequency of checking up on the people closest to him.
House like always caught on, something’s wrong with Wilson. And over time pieced everything together, his best friend, the man he loved was dying. Due to Wilson’s progressing symptoms the Diagnostician did what he does best, diagnose. He figured out Wilson has cancer, cancer of the Thymus. The moment everything clicked for House was the moment House stopped prying and shockingly shut up about the matter. He started to go along with Wilson’s needs and wants, and even showed up more often, as well as showed the younger man the affection the latter deserved but never received.
