Chapter Text
Simon had long been transformed by this blood moon-
First he drowned…
Calcium grew from his skin
And leaking radiation from the SM-13 and the strange unnatural blood fused his legs together.
Then…
He grew…
Limbs distorted and stretched-
His legs were no longer legs-
Instead they were morphed into a long winding tail with long calcium spines down the back-
His cloths-
Well they had long since dissolved-
All the better for the blood to harden and form bright red scales up his body, stopping around his neck and around his elbows and wrists-
And then…
Simon woke up from his death…
He could breath
He could see
And he could swim-
So he maneuvered through the tight tunnels.. out into the open blood ocean-
Leaving behind his sub wreck the black box… everything..
His mind… was…too scattered to care.
Once he hit the open ocean he swam farther still-
Away from Ellie…
He needed space to clear his mind-
Or.. we’ll piece it back together anyways…
So he swam-
He was nourished by the blood
Directed by his newfound senses-
His ears now replaced by fins, picking up vibrations rather than sound-
Simon swam-
With no purpose-
No direction
Just…
Swam…

When another submarine crashed into the waves of the ocean Simon wasn’t surprised
The text on its hull was smudged-
But Simon thought he made out the Symbols
‘PHM-4’ on the side.
The sight sickened him-
Another execution, another hopeless soul-
A growl built in Simon’s chest, that growl turned to a menacing roar.
This sub hadn’t even been released from its tether yet- before Simon took it in his large clawed hands and pulled hard-
The sub lurched-
Then- the line snapped-
With the sub held close to his chest and he swam-
Further and further
Until he was fairly certain he was on the other side of the damned moon-
He kept feeling a sting of radiation every so often-
No doubt the poor soul locked in the sun was desperately trying to see outside- to figure out what was happening.
Simon decided to erase any questions
He didn’t have a plan when he grabbed this sub-
He just couldn’t watch it all happened again…
So…
No suspense this time…
Whoever was inside would know exactly who or rather what they were dealing with-
Simon let go of the sub and swam in front of its camera.
He was a monster… but… he wasn’t the worst one in this ocean-
The radiation flashed once more and Simon hoped they got a good enough idea of what he looked like-
Cuz… that stung… he wasn’t doing that again.
The sub moved… slightly… it moved slightly forward then back-
Then… it turned in a little circle around itself-
The pilot was getting used to the controls-
Then it turned around and started moving away from Simon
Which was fair enough…
Simon let out a soft trill-
Content to just follow the sub.
He’d need to figure out a plan to try and keep whoever was inside alive… they didn’t have much food, or water-
Barely enough air-
All of which were scarce supplies here on this moon-
Maybe in the end Simon would just be here to watch another one die… but… at least they one be alone…
That had to count for something
Right… … ….?
