Chapter Text
Seth shuffled down the hallway, nose stuck in their newest book. Their ears perked up as they heard a passing conversation that was getting increasingly easier to hear as they walked…”
“We could try…comin’ up with newfangled ways ta punish criminells together!”
“Err…doesn’t that seem a tad violent, love? I plead comedy, not tragedy, after all…”
Seth could recognize those voices from anywhere. As they approached the large Yellow and Blue doors, they caught sight of their respective flowers sitting on the steps.
Yellow threw his arms up in exasperation, “Well then I jus’ don’t know, sugar! What about you?”
Blue pondered silently for a moment before smiling, pressing a hand to his heart. “We could always spend the day writing beautiful sonnets for one another, displaying our love and devotion in the form of art!”
Yellow blinked at the dancer awkwardly. Blue’s shoulders slumped in defeat, already knowing the answer.
“…I’unno what a “sawnnit” is, but y’already know I ain’t good with words.”
Blue sighed, his head falling into his hand. “…Then I believe I, too, am out of ideas. I simply have no clue what we should do for a date!”
Upon hearing the word ‘Date,’ Seth stopped in their tracks. Dating…they had a book about dates! It gave lots of tips for any date-related issue, like how to ask someone out on one, how to dress appropriately for one, and most importantly…where to go for one!
Seth immediately took off running, sprinting as fast as their small legs could carry them. They tucked their book into their coat so they could wave with two hands, shouting to the couple to get their attention.
“Hey! Hey Guys! GUYS!!!” Blue’s head whirled towards the purple figure, who had nearly tripped over themself, panting as they came to a stop in front of them. The dancer stood up in a panic, “Seth! What is it dear, what’s going on??
Seth put their hands of their knees, breathing heavily. They slowly raised their head up to explain. “I can…help you…! I can help you with your date!!”
Blue raised an eyebrow at this, taking a step towards the breathless teen. “Oh? How’s that?”
Seth quickly collected themselves, ushering Blue back next to Yellow and rummaging through their coat pockets. “I have a book about dates in here somewhere…aha!”
Seth pulled out a magazine, checking it to make sure it was the correct one. “Date ideas start on page 14!”
Seth handed it to Blue, who held it in between he and his lover. They chatted quietly, thinking each idea over. Seth looked down at their feet, fidgeting anxiously.
After a few minutes (which seemed like forever to Seth) of skimming through the pages together, Yellow jumped up, his eyes wide.
“Ooh! Ooh! Let’s do that! Seems like it’d be a great’un!” He pointed at a page displaying a couple watching a play over a candlelit dinner.
Blue chuckled softly at the cowboy’s enthusiasm, taking his hand as he sat back down on the stairs. “You wish to see a performance, dear?”
Yellow nodded quickly, “I sure do. Jus’ think about it, Blue! It’d be real romanty-cal sittin’ at a fancy table with ya, watchin’ folks sing n’ dance n’ whatnot!”
“Wait a second!” Seth cut in, before the two got too fixated on this idea. “Who even preforms onstage besides you two??”
Crickets. Blue and Yellow exchanged a look of realization. No one else had ever used the stage besides them. Pink was technically a performer, but she hadn’t had an actual public concert yet, considering how she was always quarreling with her other half.
Seth caught on, sighing and turning to Yellow. “…Pick something else.”
Yellow frowned, his head hung low. “D’awww, b-but I reeeeally wanna do that one!” Blue rubbed his back comfortingly. “It’s alright, my love. Do not fret!”
The dancer smiled, looking back at Seth. “…You know, dear…I believe there is a way to make this work.”
Seth rolled their eyes, crossing their arms in defiance. “If it has anything to do with training a bunch of KawKaws to do tricks, the answer is NO. I already tried doing that once.”
Blue shook his head. “Heavens, no! I believe you should write a play of your own for us!” Yellow quickly raised his head, nodding with a huge grin on his face. “Yeah! Write us somethin’ to watch on our date!”
“H-Huh!? I can’t do that!! I’d literally die!” Seth shouted, placing their arms on top of their head in shock.
Blue cocked his head to the side. “Why ever not? Everyone already knows how talented you are with a pen.”
“B-Because then I’d have to go up in front of all those people! There’s just no way!”
“You don’t hafta’ do it all on yer lonesum, you could have a lotta folks play diff’rent things! Heck, you wuld’nt even hafta show yer face, if ya didn’t wanna!” Yellow suggested, his eyes pleading.
Seth thought this over for a while. Putting on a play would be tricky, let alone getting a cast together to play each role. But…it’d be worth it if ASGORE showed up. Gosh, they’d do anything for him to notice them, especially with how busy he’d been lately…
“…Okay, fine! I’ll try to come up with something really good for you guys!” Seth waved, turning their heel back the way they came. They had to get to work as soon as possible if they wanted to write the perfect play!
“Farewell, dear! We know you’ll put on a great show!” Blue called as they turned the corner.
They were gonna have to come up with a very quick and easy plot, considering they had to get a cast of characters and a set built too.
Luckily for them, they already had a few ideas in mind.
