Summary
The calamity is over, the princess and the hero victorious, and all of Hyrule is celebrating. Zelda and Link are now free to live their lives: the princess to marry a politically useful young man and prepare herself to rule, Link to return to anonymity and live the quiet life he might have had if it weren’t for the Goddess’ meddling.
He doesn’t want that for himself. He mourns the loss of the strings of fate that had once tied them together. He doesn’t want to be separated from her, and he cannot watch as she marries a man she doesn’t love. Zelda is all too willing to accept his help, to allow him to give and give of himself for her sake when she knows he has more than earned the right to be free of her. She cannot bring herself to give him up, and she’s always been a bit selfish.
But the peace only lasts for so long. Zelda is having strange dreams that feel more like visions, and it seems that danger still lurks like storm clouds gathering in the distant horizon. As she and Link work together to deceive the royal court and out-maneuver her father, Zelda's life may once again be in danger, with Link once again called to protect her.
