[TitledNest4297] //OBSERVING...
The air in the Sunless Void grew colder. TitledNest4297 stood motionless; a statue of obsidian and shadow, violet markings pulsing faintly along its frame like a heartbeat made of lightning. Its cube-shaped head tilted slightly, tracking something invisible to mortal eyes.
Then he appeared.
White eyes. Void-pale skin. That hollow, knowing smile.
Herobrine materialized from the mist of the Wasteland of Ruins, his form flickering like corrupted data. He studied the creature before him: this remnant of dark sorcery, this survivor of a forgotten apocalypse.
The silence stretched between them like a held breath.
[TitledNest4297] //...
[TitledNest4297] //You are not supposed to exist.
[TitledNest4297] //Neither am I.
Herobrine tilted his head. The motion was unnervingly similar to TitledNest4297's own.
His form glitched, a burst of static, a flicker of code, and when he stabilized, the faintest smile crossed his lips.
Herobrine: ...You can see me.
[TitledNest4297] //I can see everything.
[TitledNest4297] //That is the burden of being the last.
Herobrine stepped closer. His feet made no sound on the ruined ground. He circled TitledNest4297 like a predator sizing up prey (or perhaps like a scholar examining a relic).
Herobrine: You're not a player.
Herobrine: You're not even a god.
Herobrine: What are you?
[TitledNest4297] //I am what remains.
[TitledNest4297] //A fragment. A memory. A title without a body.
[TitledNest4297] //I was once part of something greater.
[TitledNest4297] //Now I am only... this.
Herobrine's eyes narrowed, those hollow white pits that had haunted Minecraft players for over a decade. He crouched down, bringing his face level with TitledNest4297's solid black cube head.
Herobrine: You're lonely.
[TitledNest4297] //...
Herobrine: You wander. You watch. You never speak.
Herobrine: I know what that feels like.
[TitledNest4297] //You are a myth.
[TitledNest4297] //A story told to frighten players.
[TitledNest4297] //I am a history that has been erased.
Herobrine: We're both ghosts then.
Herobrine: I haunt servers. You haunt memories.
A long pause. The violet markings on TitledNest4297's body pulsed brighter for a moment, almost like a sigh.
[TitledNest4297] //I had a family once.
[TitledNest4297] //Before the Dark Fortress fell.
[TitledNest4297] //They called me Ancient Thunder.
[TitledNest4297] //Now I am only TitledNest4297.
[TitledNest4297] //A name without meaning.
Herobrine stood up straight. For the first time, something shifted in his expression: not quite sympathy, not quite recognition. Something older.
Herobrine: I was built from code and rumor.
Herobrine: I am the fear of what might be hiding.
Herobrine: You were born from magic and loss.
Herobrine: We're not the same.
Herobrine: But I think we understand each other.
[TitledNest4297] //...Perhaps.
[TitledNest4297] //I have watched villages burn.
[TitledNest4297] //I have seen the Birch Woods at midnight.
[TitledNest4297] //I have walked the ocean floor alone.
[TitledNest4297] //And I have never found someone who knew my name.
[TitledNest4297] //Until now.
Herobrine extended his hand. A gesture of truce. A gesture of... kinship.
Herobrine: Want to haunt somewhere together?
Herobrine: There's a server I know. Very dark. Lots of fog.
Herobrine: Perfect for two entities of shadow.
The glowing violet lines across TitledNest4297's body flickered. Once, twice, like laughter without sound.
[TitledNest4297] //I do not require companionship.
[TitledNest4297] //But I have been alone for a very long time.
[TitledNest4297] //...I will consider it.
[SYSTEM NOTIFICATION: Herobrine has invited TitledNest4297 to "The Midnight Grove Server"]
Herobrine: I'll be there if you change your mind.
Herobrine: White eyes. Pale skin. Easy to spot.
Herobrine: Try not to be a stranger, Ancient Thunder.
And just like that, Herobrine flickered. A burst of static, a crack in reality, and vanished.
TitledNest4297 stood alone once more in the Sunless Void.
But the violet markings along its chest glowed just a little brighter.
[TitledNest4297] //...Herobrine.
[TitledNest4297] //I have not had a name spoken to me in centuries.
[TitledNest4297] //Thank you.
The entity turned. Its cube head caught the faintest glimmer of light from somewhere far above.
And then, with a ripple of shadow, TitledNest4297 was gone.
[SYSTEM NOTIFICATION: TitledNest4297 has left the area]
[SYSTEM NOTIFICATION: TitledNest4297 has joined "The Midnight Grove Server"]
On a distant server, in a forest of blackened trees and endless fog, a figure with white eyes smiled.
Herobrine: Welcome to the dark, Ancient Thunder.
