Chapter Text

Haruka Sakura woke up to find a perfectly peaceful morning awaiting him. That should've been the first tell tale sign that something was wrong.

Sakura's morning routine was nothing special: wake up, freshen up, go to Pothos for breakfast, go to school, and crash out because of his beloved idiot friends.

During his morning walk to Pothos, he had this sense of unease that he couldn't shake off. He'll deal with it later, not like it's going to have consequences, right?

''Hey, Sakura-san!'', his friend, Akihiko Nerei waved from their usual booth at Pothos. ''Morning, Sakura-kun. Did you sleep in again this morning? I told you not to sleep late.'', his ever calm vice captain, 'Hayato' Suo smiled. ''Shuddup! No one asked you to track my sleep, weirdo!'', Sakura, now a light shade of red, shouted at the one-eyed boy at the booth.

''How many Goddamn times do I have to tell you idiots not to yell in my café!?'', Kotoha Tachibana yelled, (even louder than the boys) whipping out a steaming plate of omurice for Sakura.

Kotoha is a kind soul at heart but she's not afraid to call you out.

Sakura picked up the spoon and scarfed down his food like he hadn't eaten in years. Suo chuckled at his friend's antics, sipping his tea.

''Sakura-san, Suo-san, it's eight o'clock! Umemiya-san called us in for a morning meeting, remember!'', Nerei said, quickly gathering his things together. The three said their goodbyes and rushed out of the café.

While on the way there, Sakura felt that sense of unease once more, discomfort slowly creeping out of his metaphorical mask.

''Sakura-kun~'', Suo called out. ''You okay there?''

''Whats'it to you?'', Sakura mumbled, staring daggers into the pavement. Nerei looked at him with pleading eyes, almost walking into a signboard. Sakura sighed.

''Do you guys feel like someone's watching you–almost like they're stalking you?..'', he finally looked up at his friends. Nerei and Suo looked at each other.

''I know that stupid look. Just forget I said anything.'', the cat-like boy sighed.

As they continued walking, the two boys sandwiched their friend to him like velcro. Sakura blushed like a tomato but he wasn't bothered by it; he found it... comforting.
