At the new private schools they attend, they meet new friends who eventually become family. However the pressure to fit in has Sokka commit some mistakes. As his stepfather starts to crack down on him, he's not sure he's gonna make it to his senior year. Fortunately, people in this new town seem to like to meddle and he finds people helping from unexpected directions.
SUPER canon divergent - an original story I altered. Katara and Sokka are adopted siblings, Ozai is Zuko's new stepfather, and Zuko is trying very hard to seem okay (he's failing). Ozai is seriously messed up in this, the child abuse scenes are graphic and often for the first third of the story! You have been warned.
