Ilya’s barely sleeping, barely eating, distracted at practices and generally a piss-poor excuse for a captain. His last two games he didn’t score a single point. Shane, on the other hand, despite looking tubbier and tubbier in every photo, just made his fifteenth career hat-trick.
Ilya is fuming.
So when the reporter following him after the Toronto game makes the mistake of playfully asking what Ilya thinks about Shane and Rose Landry, Ilya doesn’t even think before snapping, “Why should I care who that fat fuck goes out with.”
The corridor goes dead silent. Slowly, it begins to dawn on Ilya what he just said. Fuck.
