Chapter Text
Martyn didn’t exactly want to unleash a centuries-old vision curse from an ancient diary, per se, but that’s where he, Doctor Legundo, and Apo have ended up.
Oh, and Owen and Shelby were there too.
But that’s probably not a good place to start this story.
A few hours before that happened is where this story truly starts…

“Are we sure that’s a safe idea?”
Martyn had protested when Legundo and Apo had invited him to come to try to find more crypts or beacons.
The three stood in the grounds near the center of Oakhurst, which had been even more fortified since the reality of vampires were revealed.
“I mean, there’s vampires around! Real moon-forsaken wives’ tales!”
Apo smirked slightly. “You’re sacred, aren’t you?”
“Wh- No I’m not. Lets go right now.” Martyn grabbed his silver sword out of its sheath.
Apo and Martyn raced off, and Legundo shrugged and followed them, careful not to lose them.
The trio searched the woods until they found their first crypt, an absolute monster of towering stone with glowing inexplainable lights illuminating the four sharp peaks.
“Score! We found one!” Martyn said, smiling as he ran up the stairs.
“Careful, there’s a ledge that could break your leg when you fall.” Legundo warned.
“Yep!” Martyn yelled back.
The doctor sighed. “Moons, if he dies I’m not helping him.”
“It’s kinda your job to, so that would be just rude.” Apo grinned sarcastically, then followed after Martyn.
Legs followed suit, dropping down into the water below.

Martyn was confused, to say the least.
He’d found a tome in the chest, which he threw away since he’d already got that ability, but then the wall opened. What in moon’s name was that about??
It was a small part of the wall, near the floor. In it was another chest. With another book.
Hidden book! Maybe it’s the cure book! Martyn had thought.
It was just some dumb old diary. It was just a normal book and not a power one (he’d tried biting it. Just tasted gross and dusty), and it was basically falling apart.
“What’d you find?” Apo asked when she dropped down into the water.
“Some old diary!”
“Diary?” Legundo said, dropping down as well.
The doctor and redhead walked over to get a closer look.
“S. G.” Legundo read the golden lettered initials on the leather cover.
“Open it. Maybe we can see their full name.” Apo told Martyn.
“That feels like prying.” Legs said firmly, then shook his head,
“Imma do it.” Martyn said with a cheeky grin.
He opened the diary, coughing at the plume of dust that came out.
“Property of… Sc---t G---d---i-h” Martyn read. The name was smudged and unable to read.
“Hmf. Can’t figure out who it is. Maybe if I go to the next page-“ Martyn was cut off by Owen falling off from his hiding place on the roof with a hiss.
“Owen?!” Apo yelped, grabbing a stake.
Shelby then dropped down into the water across the corridor.
“Owen!! You said you’d wait for me!” She yelled.
“What are you doing here?” Legundo asked, hand resting on his sword but not drawing it.
Shelby opened her mouth to answer, but it was too late.
Martyn flipped the page of the diary.
Everyone’s vision blurred,
then they were gone.
