Summary
Ned Stark chose Ashara Dayne over duty, once, at Harrenhal. It should have been the easiest decision of his life — a tourney romance, nothing the realm would ever need to know about. Instead it becomes the first domino in a war that will ask every person it touches the same unforgiving question: what is a good choice actually worth, once you can see what it costs everyone standing near you?

Ned retrieves Ashara's comb after her mule ends up in a lake at Harrenhal and Ashara is confused by Ned as he is difficult to read unlike every other lordling she deals with.
Ned and Ashara both don't realise nor want to admit that they have been spending the entire time at the tourney courting each other after their silent dance, but both Wylla and Brandon are trying to make them realise it.

Doran listens & enacts a plan, send ships & a bunch of soldiers to steal Elia away, take her home to Dorne
Or if she's not well.enough to travel, or baby too young for it, then they stick around Dragonstone, taking over so that Elia has a bunch of loyal people who put her&her childrens' safety as TOP PriorityWhich may actually have unintended effect of bringing ratgar back ,
Idk if w/lyanna or w/o her ,
Either he hadn't gotten far traveling to steal her before word had spread that Dornish takeover of Dragonstone
Or he left her somewhere "safe" , saying "ill take care of this first then come back for you. Just wait for me here"

This is where he learns that Ellia gave birth to a son and she has named him ... idk what name, but something else besides stupid targ egg name .
He doesn't like that but Elia don't care ofc, she tells him to fuck off, he can go back to doing whatever the fuck he felt was more important than staying on the island to witness the birth of his 2nd child.And then maybe ratgar grows erratic or threatens Elia bcz she said she's going home once she&the babe are strong enough for travel,
