Bad Dreams (Five Nights at Freddy's Fanfic)

Summary:

[Just for disclosure, this is an AU (alternate universe) and is loosely inspired by both the games and book universes. Nothing in here is canon!!!]

Samantha Lewis is a sixteen year old girl, still traumatized from Freddy's after the mysterious disappearance of her brother, Cassidy. She's since moved far away from that place, but it still manages to follow her.

Now on summer break, her mom pressures her to find a job, and just so finds a job opening as a party host for the new Freddy's location. Could this be a chance for her to move on, or could this be a way for her to find clues about what happened to her brother?

Notes:

Trigger warnings: mentions of blood and decapitation of a child

Chapter Text

Sam wakes up somewhere familiar.

She's surrounded by colorful balloons, bright decorations, cheerful music, and the laughter of excited children. She glances around, searching for the source of the music, until her eyes settle on a stage.

Then she remembers.

Two arms suddenly wrap around her neck, pulling her into a playful chokehold. She laughs. "Cassidy! Stop!"

Her older brother only grins, squeezing her a little tighter. "Come on, Sammy. You said you'd come to the show with me."

"But I don't like Foxy. He's scary."

"Pleeeeaaaase?"

Same rolls her eyes, unable to hide a smile. "Ugh... fine."

Cassidy immediately grabs her hand and pulls her away from the table, leading her toward Pirate Cove. The curtains part, and the show begins.

As the performance goes on, Sam notices he isn't watching the stage anymore. He's staring toward a door at the back of the room.

For just a moment, she catches a glimpse of something golden through it's small window. Before she can get a better look, it's gone. She turns her attention back to the fox on stage.

"I'm gonna check something out. Stay here," Cassidy whispers before slipping away toward the door.

Minutes pass. Then nearly an hour. The show ended a long time ago.

She knows she should do what her brother told her, but the uneasy feeling in her stomach was hard to ignore.

Finally, she stands and walks to the door. Beyond it is a long hallway lined with several doors. She checks on each room one one by one. Nothing. No sign of Cassidy. Until she reaches the last door. It's labeled "Spare Parts."

She slowly pushes it open. The room is dark. Shelves along the wall are packed with robotic limbs and endoskeleton parts. A large worktable sits in the center, scattered with tools.

Then, she sees it.

The golden shape from before. It's a tall golden rabbit, wearing a purple bow tie. Then she notices the blood. It stains the floor. The table. The rabbit.

Something hangs limply from one of its hands.

It's Cassidy's head.
