Cheng Xiaoshi had never really celebrated Valentine’s Day.
He never had a partner before,
not in that way,
at least. It wasn’t until he met Lu Guang that he had someone to do stupid things for.
Like, buy a bouquet,
before he even knew if Lu guang liked him back.
He knew that Lu Guang wouldn’t be mad—or at least he hoped so—but he wasn’t sure that he would stay
after this. And, Cheng Xiaoshi wouldn’t blame him if he had to backtrack
on saying that he would stay
for as long as he could.
Cheng Xiaoshi took a deep breath and pushed the glass door open. He already paid for the flowers, may
as well give them to Lu Guang. He was at the counter, camera in hand, and immediately saw the flowers. He had a knowing look, but let Cheng Xiaoshi speak. “I bought you flowers, I- uh. I wanted to tell you, I love you.” And, from that look, he knew Lu Guang understood.
Lu Guang never made him explain himself.
There was a warm, genuine smile on Lu Guang’s lips as he took the flowers. “Thank you, Xiaoshi,” was all he said before putting the camera on its shelf.
