Chapter 1: Orientation Day

Chapter Text

Haley POV:

Three years after I came to Hogwarts, I realised that J.k. Rowling is a fuck ass biggot. I left once the school year ended to avoid the hatred I faced after I came out as trans.

That summer, after recovering from my top surgery, I transferred to Provo Canyon Catholic school in Utah to chase my faith in God. My faith is strong, but I know that others in the church don’t like people as unique as I am, so I have to cover it up. I’ve had my surgeries and have been taking estrogen for a while now, but something about me is still… masculine. As much as I try, I know I will never truly be Hailey Potter. I look up to every woman, but there’s not much I can do.

Ronda POV:

I am a proud Catholic, but I am ashamed of myself. I never truly understood what it meant to be a man, even though I was taught how to be. I’ve tried to be the provider I was taught to be, but it never worked. I’ve learned more about myself and eventually I changed from Ronald Weasley to Ronda Weasley. My parents were supportive, or at least as much as good, devout Catholic parents get, so they let me go on estrogen. The surgeries were too much and we couldn’t afford them, so I just tell everyone that I’m part of the itty bitty titty committee. At least they’re letting me go to an all girls’ school this year.

Orientation Week At Povo Canyon

Hailey POV:

I FINALLY got my dorm key and walked up the staircase to get to my room. Luckily I rode on my broomstick, so the ride was easy, but nonetheless, I was exhausted from the trip and just wanted to take a nap in my room after I met my roommate. Once I climbed the stairs, I found my room and went inside. When I got inside, it was instantly apparent that my roommate had been here. Photos were taped to the walls and fairy lights were hung up. No one was inside. I began to unpack and saw my Diary. I hesitated for a second and pulled it out. Once I realized I had nothing to write, seeing as I had just gotten here, I put it back in my suitcase and fell asleep on my bed. I jolted awake to the sound of clothes rustling and footsteps.

“Hey! I didn’t want to wake you but, you’re in my bed,” the voice said,
“Sorry, it’s just that I had already put my stuff there. I just don’t like the top cause I move a lot and typically fall, so I’m at the bottom.”

I look up, in a confused sleepy daze, looking around in confusion, did this random stranger just tell me they’re a bottom? I thought as I blink the sleep out of my eyes.

“Sorry, I should have introduced myself before.” She scratched the back of her neck with an awkward smile, and stuck her hand out to shake mine, "I'm Ronda.“

She had a familiar accent, she certainly wasn’t from the states. In all honesty she reminded me of somebody that I used to know.

“Nice to meet you” I said with a yawn, and shook her hand.

“Oh, while you’re here, do you think you could help me hang up this poster?”

“Sure,” I say standing up. I was taller than her, and bigger too. She was fairly skinny and short, so it made sense she would ask for help. “I’m Hailey, by the way,” I say as I walk over to grab the nightstand for Ronda to stand on.

“What exactly do you want me to help you with?”

“Im just too short to reach the wall and I need help lining it up.”

“Okay, I can help.” I said.

Ronda stood on the nightstand, holding the poster and a wad of bluetack. I stood on my trunk. Reaching the top of the wall, we began to line up the poster. Ronda had to go up on her tippy-toes to reach. Suddenly, the nightstand began to wobble.

“WOAH, WOAH, WOAH!”

Ronda’s POV:

Next thing I knew I was on the ground with a weight on my chest. I slowly open my eyes and look around, Hailey is on top of me and there’s a throbbing pain in my ankle.

“Oh my gosh, are you okay?” Hailey jumps off of me and shakes my shoulders.

“Y-y-yeah,” I say, clutching my head, “I’m fine.” I try to stand up, but just as I reach my full height, my knee buckles. I grimace in pain, but try to hide it, not wanting to worry Hailey.

I suddenly felt strong hands on my arms, “Ronda, are you okay, that was a big fall and I landed on top of you.”

“I promise you, nothing is wrong.” I walk over to my bed but have a heavy limp. “I swear I don’t need any help,” I wince.

“No you’re not,” Hailey’s voice gets serious, “Let me take you to the nurse.”

I give in and stand up, “Ok,” I sigh, “Let’s go.”

I can barely walk out of the room when Hailey picks me up all of a sudden. My face suddenly flushes and my cheeks pink. “W-ww-what are you doing,” I ask as she brings me out of the room, picking up her pace.

“How do you expect to get to the nurse when you can’t even leave?” Hailey says as we storm through the halls, “I would also be a terrible roommate and Catholic if I left my roommate helpless.”

The flush on my face grows as I think of how kind she is, helping a stranger who got hurt by her own fault, nonetheless taking her down with me. Hailey carried me in her big, muscular arms. My ankle hurts more than ever now. I wince in pain. We make it to the infirmary and she lays me on an empty bed.

“Ronda will sleep here tonight so she doesn’t strain her ankle any more.” The nurse says. That is the last thing I could remember before I fell asleep.

Hailey POV:

I walk back to the dorm alone, weirdly missing this person I just
met.

“Dear diary,

Today, my roommate sprained her ankle! I feel bad she has to sleep in the infirmary alone without all of her stuff. I feel so bad because I landed on top of her, I think I hurt her. That was SO embarrassing! I hope I made up for it when I ran her to the infirmary, I didn’t know what else to do, I mean she couldn’t walk. Anyway, I need to finish unpacking before I go to bed. I wonder what this year has in store for me…”
