Summary
Boston Police Detective Ilya Rozanov has built his decorated career on remaining detached from his investigations, solving them quickly, then moving on. And most importantly, not mixing professional with pleasure.
Then he gets handed a case that threatens to tear down the armor and walls he’s built up and maintained for years. A young data analyst who works with the NHL uncovers a web of irregularities climbing up to the highest ranks of the League, then disappears with the data.
The case appears straightforward, open and shut.
But in the course of the investigation, Detective Rosanov meets Shane Hollander, Captain of the Boston Bruins and suddenly, things aren’t so simple.
The closer Rozanov gets to solving the case, the closer he also gets to Shane Hollander. Both his career and his heart are on the line, and Ilya is forced to choose between the objectivity his job demands and the feelings he’s developed for a man who’s quickly taking over his world.
The only thing either of them know for sure is that the line between duty and desire is absurdly thin but it still may be worth crossing.
