In an attempt to get back at Ilya for calling him all kinds of Russian nouns like lawnmower or tomato, Shane starts to learn Russian pet names. He learns them secretly at first. And then one day Shane decides to use them. Ilya and Shane are in the kitchen. Ilya is at the fridge looking for something to snack while Shane prepares himself some coffee.
Shane: Can you give me the milk out of the fridge, родной? (Darling)
Ilya stills instantly with his hand on the open fridge door and starts blushing.
Ilya (croaking): What?
Shane: Can you give me the milk for my coffee, please?
Ilya reached for the milk on auto pilot and hands it to Shane.
Shane: Thank you, ненаглядный. (Beautiful)
Ilya starts blushing harder. Shane pours the milk into his coffee and hands it back to Ilya. Then he leaves the kitchen for the living room smiling into his coffee. Ilya stands in the kitchen with the milk in his hand and the fridge door open, blushing furiously. After a minute or two Ilya collects himself, puts the milk back into the fridge and follows Shane into the living room. Shane is sitting on the couch sipping on his coffee and scrolling on his phone innocently.
Ilya: What was that?
Shane (looking up from his phone): What do you mean, Малыш? (Baby)
Ilya (pointing at Shane but already blushing again): This! What is this?
Shane (trying to look confused but failing): I don’t know what you are talking about, Золотце? (Precious)
Ilya (now blushing down his neck and up to his ears): You evil man. Stop this!
Shane (smiling hard): Oh you love it, любимый! (Beloved)
Ilya (red all over but smiling dumbly): No I don’t!
Shane: You are a little liar, дорогой. You are blushing all over. (Dear)
Ilya (shaking his red head): No! Russians do not do this! And it’s really unfair to treat your husband like this!
Shane (laughing): Come here you blushing idiot.
Shane sets his coffee and phone down and opens his arms for Ilya. Ilya looks down at first but then trots over to Shane and drops into his arms.
Ilya: Can you say it again?
Shane: Which one?
Ilya: All of them, please.
Shane: Of course, Ilyusha.
