   The question throws Shane off completely. He felt like he had just been punched.

   "Why would you ask me that?" Shane couldn't help but yelp.

   "Because I'm...!" Ilya stopped, his hand covered his mouth as his eyes teared up. Suddenly, a sense of dread overcome Shane. Before he could say anything, Ilya whispered: "Because I think you'll have to, Shane."
