Summary
One day, DJ wakes up, and nothing is wrong. Well, nothing seems wrong—except for a pit at the bottom of his heart that feels as though it cannot be filled.
Really, it’s because Superfish removed the core and wiped DJ’s memory. But with his reduced magic, instead of erasing himself completely, he makes a hole where he used to be in DJ’s life. Like stealing ice cream from the carton in the freezer, but not covering up your tracks by smoothing the top layer out. Everyone can tell someone ate the ice cream when they go to get more. But nobody knows who did it. With this unexplainable hole in his life, DJ spirals into depression.
