“Was it casual?” He choked, turning his head to look at his once lover.
“What?” Erling’s voice rasped, sharp and wounded, the question cutting right through his defenses.
Jude took a tentative step toward Erling, anchoring himself against the wall as a sense of vertigo threatened his support. Standing inches away, his eyes traced the contours of Erling's face, drowning in a history he should have buried years ago. Yet, that fractured past was the only thing they truly had left.
