Nico loved nights like these. Nights where it could just be him and Jack, no hockey, no travelling, not annoying teammates. Just him and Jack, cooking together in the kitchen, music playing quietly in the background. Jack wasn’t doing much cooking honestly, mostly chopping and getting ingredients Nico asked for. Nico had the sauce simmering on the stove, before turning to where Jack was leaning against the counter.
“Dance with me?” Nico said, holding his hand out for Jack to take.
“What?” Jack put his phone down on the counter, unsure what Nico was trying to do.
“Come on, dance with me for a bit. We need to let the sauce simmer for a bit before we can do anything else.” Nico stepped even closer, standing right in front of Jack. Jack smiled at Nico and took his outstretched hand. Nico put is hand on Jack’s waist, while Jack’s went to Nico’s shoulder, hands still clasped together.
The two swayed along to the music in the background. Neither caring about anything because in this moment it was just the two of them together. Nico dipped Jack, pressing a kiss against his lip as he did. Jack laughed, lips still pressed against Nico’s. Nico spun them around, letting go of Jack’s waist so he spun away from Nico before pulling him so his back in so Jack’s back was now pressed against Nico’s front. Pressing another kiss against Jack’s lips.
“I love you.” Nico whispered, still swaying the pair slightly.
“I love you, even if you’re very cheesy.” Jack laughed. He put his hands on Nico’s arms that were wrapped around his waist, leaning fully back against the other man. They should probably check on the sauce and finish dinner but they wanted to continue soaking up this moment together. They needed more night together like this but they were taking this one slow, just wanting to be together.
