She laughed, but still felt a bubbling nervousness in her throat as he spoke. “But tell me one thing,” he said, leaning in close. “Is my Shane his hall pass?”
She bit down on her lip hard, almost willing the words to stay in her mouth. She didn’t want her husband to die tonight.
“Please don’t kill him,” she said instead of answering. To her surprise, Ilya laughed.
“I am not going to kill him,” he said. “Maybe I should, but this is actually not a problem. In fact, this is opposite of problem.”
