    Summary

When Shane Hollander was 15, he came out as gay to his mother in the passenger seat of her car, on his way home from hockey camp. And so, in true Hollander fashion, they made a plan. Shane would stay firmly in the closet, not because he was ashamed, but because he loved hockey more than he loved anything else in his life. It was a sacrifice, sure, but it was one he was wholeheartedly willing to make. And then, when he decided to retire, he could think about coming out. It was simple.
    It was the plan.
It was the only plan that would work, and Shane would do anything to keep it on track.
    Enter: Ilya Rozanov

Or: What would have happened if Shane had gone into his hockey career knowing he was gay? How would his relationship with Ilya play out if he didn't have to keep denying something fundamental about himself? How would his friendships change? How would his relationship with his parents, with his team, with hockey be different without the constant weight of repression?
