Work Text:
On a nice, ordinary evening, the kids, Hong, Ohn and Raon, suddenly barged into the room, pulling Choi Han (god bless his poor luck) to their weird shenanigans.
"Cale!! Cale!!! "
Hong called out in his human form. Behind him, Choi Han was standing awkwardly, holding a.. FUCKING ELECTRIC GUITAR?????
"Human, look, strong Choi Han taught us how to play this.. guitar!" Raon said ecstatically, stopping somewhere in the middle, trying to remember the name of the instrument.
"Is that so?" Cale mutter silently, looking to Ohn, who was standing beside her brothers silently, before averting his gaze back to the guitar with a look of nostalgia.
"Yeah, wanna hear us play?" Hong asked, trying his best to keep up an almost nonchalant face, which inevitably cracks after seeing a small, almost unnoticeable nod from the older man.
"but.. how will the three of you play at the same time?" Cale asked, a smile growing on his face.
at the question, the kids looked at eachother, seemingly confused to how they would play together. Ohn, being the oldest and also the most mature amongst them, sighed and whispered to the other two, who sparkled after hearing whatever she just said. Choi Han, still holding onto the guitar, looked at Cale and walked over, standing beside him silently, both looking at the young childrens.
'childrens should stay childrens' that's what he would always say.
after a few minutes, Ohn went to Cale and said, "we'll play in turns, so all three of us would be able to play equally."
Cale nodded and Ohn went back to her brothers, who was crouching near the corner. Then, all three of them stood up and Hong went over to Choi Han, taking the electric guitar (which was rather big for their small figure) into his hands and moved to the middle of the room and..
played.

As Ohn said, the three of them did play in turns. although it was.. for from perfect, to put it bluntly, Cale listened to it silently, making mental notes to himslef about the small mistakes they made.
After listening to their little consert, Cale thought to himself for a bit and pointed out their flaws, one by one.
"this part, you're playing it to rough. it should've had a slower and lighter feeling. Here, it's too fast, opposite to the next part which was too slow. I'm guessing you mixed up the parts, didn't you?"
Cale continued to point out mistakes, which was noted by the three kids. After all the corrections, Cale gave them encouragement and some reassurance, the kids puppy-eyed-ly looked to Cale and asked for him to play.
Cale, being the weak man he is, gave in and took the guitar to his hands. it wasn't all that bad, sure, it was a far cry from the one he used to play on stages, but it was.. decent, to say the least.
fixing the tune, checking the strings, became a habit for him before playing. small habits are hard to fix, even after decades of not even touching the guitar. Cale furrowed his brows, ' I've probably went rusty after all this while'
(N/A: for better experience, play FUYU NO HANASHI because for this scene, Cale will be playing the song )
coughing into his fist and testing his voice, Cale started to move his fingers between the strings. A familiar feeling, one that feels so much so, it almost hurts.
(N/A: yh no. use your imagination for this.. ㅎㅅㅎ)
just as he was about to sing, he stops for a second, although his hands were still on the guitar, playing almost mechanically, (maybe it was muscle memory from how much he used to remind himself not to forget?) yet his words were stuck, it couldn't escape from his tounge and Cale decided to just do what he does best, to do the ' Lalalas'...
and 'Lalala' he did, until the end of the song.
