Work Text:
“Let’s go home,” Cobs had said.
The words were still ringing in MePhone’s mind
hours later. Even after he was dead.
He couldn’t stop thinking about them. He couldn’t leave verything that happened behind.
He knew it was all said and done.
He knew he was safe now.
He knew that he didn’t have to run
from that horrible man anymore. But, that didn’t mean his body would allow
him to settle down anytime soon.
He was still on edge,
and he doubted that that would pass over like the moon
shinging above him now. He knew it was stupid how tense he still was, but the small bit of tension that had dropped from his shoulders when he realized that Cobs was truly dead and gone stood as a testament—a pledge,
to himself—that it would get better.
He would only have to wait for that certainty to fully fester.
