Chapter Text

Soul Colors

My world was shades of gray before we met,
No scene or sky ere filled with colors bright
Nor cared to parse the dancing hues which set
The day apart from dark and solemn night.

Then lo! did your bright eyes ensnare mine own
And gift the colors fully to my view!
I saw the world alight with radiant glow—
Marvel'd that the sky, once gray, shone blue!

I wept to see the sunlight fill your eye
For surely this sweet gift was worth the wait,
Yet when I broached the topic, your reply
Bade me to turn away and claim mistake!

Steal not thy gift of color, I implore,
And thus condemn my life to gray once more!
