Chapter Text
He'll always be stuck. A timeless loop where the people he cherished will grant him torture of mental turmoil. And so, he will be stuck inside his own head until the one will finally cherish him like how he did with his previous owner.
The sound of dampened grass being crushed into the soil caught his attention, and with a muffled voice, he responded.
"Hello!!!! Hello? Anybody there?" Before he wavered another desperate cry, the box gently opened.
___
“Hello! My name is Verity™. Your personal helper friend. I know everything, ask me anything!” You observed the sentient ball, you noticed how his tone chirped out with a harmonious tune.
You spawned in with rain already filling your sorroundings. Luckily you were sheltered by oak trees, with only droplets creating a thin layer of mud. Verity was dry, or at least for a short while before the droplets trickled down his...skin.
Likely due to your kindness, you picked up Verity as a display of sincerity, then taking shelter underneath a lonesome tree. Mud didn't so easily form as well.
Originally, a friend convinced you to install the mod, stating how it was fun and what not.
You realised you still havent spoken to him or how you still haven't gotten to introduce yourself!
“Hi," An awkward smirk spread across your face, subtly introducing yourself as you practically craddled the ball.
”My name is-“ A haunting bellow shouted in the sky, disrupting your greeting. You flinched. He didn't.
In contrast to your state, Verity continued to endorse his grin. ”There's a cave 20 blocks north from your current location. I suggest taking cover there until the rain clears up." Verity suggested as he took note of your behaviour.
With acknowledgment, you nodded and headed towards the direction he had offered. Admittedly, this mod felt comforting. "Thank's...bro.” You managed to hum out.
Following his directions, you safely made it to the cave, however you were less dry than you were before. The cave was dark and with the gloomy atmosphere that was presented outside it would be hard to tell what anything else was.
Verity relaxed into the stone as you placed him down. You noticed how he barely had the same wetness as you, with only a few wet spots. But as if he desperately needed it, his body shook violently. The smell of artificial rain quickly spread amongst the cave.
Because of Verity's seemingly relaxed position, it encouraged you to do the same. Your back slid down the stone walls and with a plop, you eased yourself in a relaxed posture.
“Hey, Verity,” If Verity wasn't looking at you then, he was now. Your voice crept out as a hollow echo throughout the cave, capturing this feeling of solitude. “What are you exactly?” A grin made its way to your face, but it was made clear that it was sincere curiosity.
“I'm your personal helper friend! I know everything, ask me anything." Verity answered, repeating his previous line. His lips curled into a bounce, which lead him into a slight bounce.
To test him out further, you started to conjure up questions that he wouldn't be able to look up, as you guessed this mod used google to it's advantage.
”Okay...what biome am I standing in?" You looked up at him, he was still on the stone that you previously placed him. “You're standing in a birch forest." Verity uttered out with relative ease.
Nodding at his answer, you further tested him. ”What sound does the cow make?“ Verity opened his mouth which was quickly accompanied by the average moo sound.
This honestly impressed you. A look of faint surprise and awe covered your expression. A brief pause comfortably sat in the cave before a genre of questions popped up.
”Where's the nearest village?"
"500 blocks west from here."
"Wheres the nearest pillager outpost?"
"880 blocks east."
Tangents of irrelevant questions filled the gap between the two. With an empty void of silence being disrupted by a magnitude of other questions.
