Chapter Text
Wailing from the room next door forces Jane awake. It’s becoming instinctual now, the way his mind and body react to the sounds of this tiny human. Jane would’ve laughed not long ago if he were told he would be so attached to anyone but his friends and family. Well, technically, this is a new addition to the family…their family.
Jane chooses to stop thinking there. It’s too early to reflect on life choices. Attempting to get out of bed, Jane rolls a little to the edge. Just as he was about to sit up, strong arms wrapped around his torso. Jane grabs the arms and tries to snake out of them but they only hold on tighter.
“P’Jane!” Jane whispers. He would yell, but the cries are already loud enough for the condo.
“Where are you going?” Jane asks. Looking over, the man doesn’t even have his eyes open, yet there’s still a smirk on his face. Janes tries to ignore how warm it feels being trapped in his arms, or the slight smile creeping onto his face simply from looking at a sleepy P’Jane.
“Jace is crying, let go,” Jane said with a huff. Finally, P’Jane let go, albeit reluctantly. Jane stepped out of bed and the cold air hit his naked body. Quickly finding a pair of pajama pants, Jane put them on and hurriedly walked out of their bedroom.
He chose not to look back at P’Jane who was absolutely staring at him while he was changing. Jane thought after a few years the novelty would wear off, but he knew P’Jane was different from anyone he’s ever met.
Regardless of the warnings, Jane decided to stay. It wasn’t really his choice in the beginning, but deep down Jane knew the moment that key pendant was placed around his neck, he would be stuck with Jane Patrick forever.
