Chapter Text
SH: Hi Vogue! it’s Shane Hollander, and this is what’s in my bag.
IN THE BAG with Shane Hollander
[Shane Hollander is seated behind a table, displaying a black Hermès Hac a Dos GM backpack]
SH: Ilya actually got me this bag recently, when we went to Paris last month.
[A silver laptop is taken out and set on the table]
SH: This is my laptop. I use it for work, Ilya uses it for games.
[Shane doesn’t look too happy. The laptop is set aside and a CCM water bottle is brought out]
SH: My water bottle. Make sure you stay hydrated guys, it’s recommended for men to drink 3.7 litres, and 2.7 for women.
[A pair of wired earbuds and noice cancelling headphones is brought out]
SH: These are my headphones. I’m pretty sensitive to sounds so I use these [he picks up the noise cancelling headphones] to cancel noise.
[He picks up the wired earbuds]
SH: These are pretty small so I like carrying them around with me. I found that from experience AirPods go missing way too often, so I bought the wired ones.
[The headphones are both set aside and 3 small books are brought out]
SH: Here are my books. Hockey Before the NHL, La Culture de la Rondelle, et Преступление и наказание—which I recommend for anyone learning Russian.
[All 3 books are put aside and a black Louise Carmen journal with a light blue cord is brought out]
SH: This is my Journal. I have my initials here on the front [S.H.R is engraved in gold on the bottom corner of the journal], and our anniversary date here on the inside [10 07 21 engraved in gold on the inside of the journal].
SH: Ilya got this for me for our anniversary, but I don’t actually journal much, so I mainly use this for hockey, planning, and Russian.
[The zip pouch of the black portfolio—inside the journal—is opened]
SH: I keep all my pens and note taking stuff here, and here is a drawing my teammate made of Anya!
[A small portrait of Anya is attached to the front page of the journal with a paper clip]
SH: The journal is customizable and can hold 4 notebooks, but I went with 3. [He shows the first notebook] I got the calendar here.
[He flips through to the next notebook, showing lined paper]
SH: This one is lined paper, and I use it for my hockey notes.
[He flips to the last notebook, again showing lined paper]
SH: This one is also lined, but I use it for my Russian learning.
[He flips to the end of the journal, showing a small pocket filled with polaroids. He picks each of them up]
SH: I put a few photos in this pocket here. This one is of Ilya, Anya, Zoya(cat), and Mila (dog). This one is a group photo of the team when we won the Stanley Cup, and this one is of my family.
[He slips the photos back inside, sets the journal aside, and pulls out an Hermès Hacademi Pouch]
SH: This is my pouch. Ilya bought it with the bag. The front pocket is pretty big so it has a lot of stuff.
[He opens the front pocket and brings multiple items out]
SH: Dog treats for Anya, protein bars, electrolytes, mints, deodorant—very important if you’re a male athlete in a team sport—hand sanitizer, my perfume (Acqua Di Giò Eau de Toilette), hand cream (L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream), chapstick (Aquaphor), and lip balm (Laneige Lip Glowy Balm in Berry)
[He picks up the lip balm]
SH: This was actually a gift from Rose because she had extra. I wasn’t originally planning on using it but Ilya really liked how it tasted so I kept it, which I think she knew would happen.
[He chuckles and applies some lip balm, puts everything back inside, then zips open the back pocket]
SH: This pocket is supposed to store your phone, but I put my wallet and passport in instead.
[He pulls out his wallet—a Louis Vuitton Taiga Leather Slender Wallet—and opens it, showcasing multiple cards, cash, and a Polaroid]
SH: I got this wallet last month in Paris, and I put this Polaroid inside. It’s Ilya and I in Japan for the first time, last summer.
[The wallet is put back inside the pouch and set aside. Another pouch—Hermès Zipengo Chaine d'Ancre PM—is brought out]
SH: This was also bought with my bag. It’s my emergency pouch, which tends to be very useful when you live with an athlete and have teammates.
[He opens the pouch and dumps out multiple items]
SH: A lot of bandaids, bandages, medical tape, gauze, wipes, tissues, medicine, and medication for both Ilya and I because I never trust him to remember to bring his.
[He puts the items back and sets the pouch aside. 2 Louis Vuitton glasses cases are brought out]
SH: Lastly, my glasses. These are also new, from Paris. First off, my sunglasses [he pulls out the sunglasses to showcase them], and my reading glasses [he puts on the reading glasses].
SH: I broke my last pair so I got Ilya to pick out new ones, he was very enthusiastic.
[He smirks and puts the sunglasses back inside it’s case, but leaves his reading glasses on]
SH: Oh, I forgot one last thing!
[He reached into the bag and pulls out…a dog?]
SH: This is Anya, my dog. Anya, say hi!
[He waves Anya’s paw and poses her for the camera, then sets her on his lap to pack everything up]
SH: Thanks for having me and I hope you guys enjoyed looking through my bag. Bye Vogue!
