Juliette felt something crack. This woman was supposed to be someone she trusted. Someone who’d sent her a note telling her to have no fear. But she was turning her back.
Juliette stared at the tool in front of her, her fingers closing around it, letting the sharp edge of one of the pieces dig into her skin. It wasn’t a conscious decision, but she’d been in this fucked up brain long enough to recognize when she was doing something she used to do before.
