Work Text:
The 2 of them have already known too much of each-other to ever doubt anything between themselves. It was a misconception, though.
To Libya's luck /they/ had someone who cared about them more /they/ cared about /themselves/ . It wasn't the first time they'd felt something that /they'd/ felt before. A feeling of solace and comfort beneath Egypt's wing as his feathers slowly rub behind their collarbone. /They/ didn't know how to feel.
His breath lingered a-bit longer as he laid his head against /their/spine . His hand somewhat moved along /their/ face to pinch a cheek only to be met with silence.
"So you like /us/? " . Libya asked and turned his head towards Egypt, whom slipped down and regained balance shortly after.
" I don't want to give you a false interpretation of what we are. Can't you be quiet for once?". His voice shaky almost as if he'd been rehearsing that response in his mind for days on end.
Libya spoke slowly, but made sure it got across . "Is loving /us/ a burden. Im sorry if /we/ ever offended you. Egypt. We just want to be loved".
The sound of the knife dug deep into Egypt's mind. Staring at Libya's neck silently, watching the blood flow down, staining the greyish-yellow sand into a mixture of dark red. His(Egypt's) heart thumping loudly to the point he could hear it but nonetheless his eyes couldn't gaze off of the unconscious nation lying in-front of him. He then dug his nails into his bare palm, blood then seeped out due to how hard he clenched his nails(or talons). He could feel his body shivering. As he looked down to find his hands drenched in blood. /They/ (Libya) were unconscious then. It seemed/they/ were unconscious even in their decisions with Egypt. Egypt nears Libya, he the gags harder; the smell of copper now in his mouth– a remnant of what Libya did to him. His hand slowly moves to press against Libya's chest.A pulse is evident but its concerningly slow as he the impulsively presses his lips against Libya's neck, whilst a solute of tears and blood drip over his mouth as he did so. Pulling back out of disgust , more-so self- hatred. At a loss for words.
Libya's hand moved under Egypt's neck; brushing against the tips of his semi- long dark brown hair. "Egypt." Libya's voice resurfaces in aggravation as /they/ cough out blood on the other nations uniform – grasping his uniform for any feeling of comfort that they once felt in the beginning. It felt as if /they/ were in the past again. To some extent Libya harbored off of Egypt's atmosphere a feeling of
isolation. Not feeling so much around the presence of the other nation. The silence thickened once more as the only thing either of them could hear was the heavy breathing of Libya and the not-so heavy breathing of Egypts.
"It wasn't at your hands to commit such acts towards /us/,why bother? " Libya begins to speak, /their/ voice full of nothing but resignation towards Egypt.
Egypt's trembling hand then brushed off a curl covering Libya's forehead. Not responding. His breath light . His wings calmly positioned. Egypt tried to talk but every time he'd try however it wasn't what'd Libya want to hear.
"It's not at my fault. Libya" He murmurs , trembling as he stares gapingly at the copious amounts of blood that stained his hand a mere dark red. His wing feathers against each-other behind his back. Libya looks further into Egypt's eye to try and sense any kind of regret. The regret was washed just as /they/ expected.
Having each-other wasn't enough alone for either of them.
