Ernie hated this, hated being away from Addison for this long because Addison was injured and off recovering from his shoulder injury. So when Addison called him and said he was coming back Ernie couldn’t be more excited. He was still a couple days off from playing but he’d be with the team and that’s what mattered. He’ll be back in their house, and sleeping beside Ernie at night and that’s all he wanted.
Ernie couldn’t sit still. Addison’s flight landed about twenty minutes ago and he should be home within the hour; and Ernie couldn’t wait anymore. He’s cleaned the whole house and was going to make Addison’s favourite meal for supper. Ernie just needed Addison to finally get here. He was pacing their front entry way when he heard it, the sound of a car pulling into the driveway. He waited at the door until the front door finally opened and Addison stepped inside. Ernie barely let the front door shut before he was on top of Addison, pulling him in for a hug.
“Don’t leave me alone again.” Ernie said, squeezing Addison.
“I’ll try not to.” Addison laughed. He was just as happy to be home. It’s been a while since they were together and he’s missed his boyfriend.
“You better not. It’s been too long since I’ve seen you. It’s not fair.” Ernie pulled back enough so he could look at Addison’s face.
“I know, all alone in this big house, playing baseball with the team. How tragic for you.” Addison smiled, tone teasing.
“You’re so mean to me.” Ernie pouted, faking hurt. Addison laughed, leaning forward and pressing a kiss against Ernie’s lips. Ernie grabbed Addison’s waist, keeping him close. He just got his boyfriend back, he wasn’t letting him get too far away.
“I’m pretty sure you survived. I can leave again if you’re going to pout and be moody.” Addison started to pull back, he didn’t get far before Ernie pulled him back in, wrapping his arms around Addison’s waist to keep him right where he was.
“You’re staying right here, right where you belong.”
“Alright, I guess I’ll stay. The company is pretty cute.”
“You’re damn right he is.” Ernie pulled Addison further into the house towards the living room until they landed on the couch, Addison on top of Ernie. Ernie wrapped his arms around Addison’s waist to keep him right where he was, not letting him get away now. Not when he just got him back.
