Work Text:
When George agreed to spend the summer break with Lance he wasn’t sure what to expect. He should have figured it would be something quiet and away from people. Two weeks at Lance’s cottage in Canada wasn’t something George would think he wanted but it ended up being just what he needed. No one around to use pictures, no fans, just them and a cottage bigger than most people’s homes. George loved the lake, Lance had a boat they went out on daily or sometimes they used the jet skies but George’s favourite time was night time. When the sun went down Lance would make a fire and they’d lay by it together. Most nights were warm, the lingering heat from the day sticking around but defiantly more manageable than during the day. So when tonight after they finished eating George didn’t think anything of it when Lance suggested a fire, just grabbed the marshmallows from the cupboard and headed outside. Lance had changed into sweatpants and a hoodie, which George thought was weird but Lance was a little weird at times so he let it slide. So when George stepped outside in just a t-shirt and shorts the chill in the air surprised him.
“When did it get cold?” George asked, wrapping his arms around himself. Lance looked up from where he was getting the fire going to look at his boyfriend and how he was dressed.
“Did me changing not tell you it was cold? It gets cold in the summer most nights.”
“This cold?” George was just about shivering, trying to warm himself up.
“Come here.” Lance sat down on one of the couch, holding his arms out for George. George hurried over, laying on top of Lance. Lance wrapped his arms around George. George tucked himself into Lance’s arms, and started feeling himself get warmer. Lance laid down so George was laying on top of him, rearranging them until they were both comfortable.
“You’re so warm.”
“Glad I could be useful to you.”
“You’re useful in many way. Right now it’s being my person heater.” George leaned up and pressed a kiss to Lance’s lips. Lance just wrapped his arms tighter around George. He knew at some point he should get George into some warmer clothes before he got too cold, but right now he was content to just cuddle with his boyfriend in front of the fire.
