Work Text:
Anne woke up from a sudden sharp pain all over her body, felt like needles were sewing her skin, her eyes were burning and it felt like something was growing out of her back, she was hot sweating. She sat up in bed, attempting to stand up, to not overheat America, but her knees buckled, sending her to the floor with a heavy THUD that woke him up. “Anne!? What’s wrong!? I heard something!?” He yelled, dropping to his knees by her. She suddenly wrapped her arms around him, body shaking with sobs, tears soaking his shirt. They both heard a loud CRACK followed by the sound of fabric ripping, he saw a pair of wings like his. He noticed that her hair was white and red and blue. “Anne…? Are you alright?” He asked. “I-I f-feel w-weird…” She whispered, finally turning around and noticing the wings. “Wh-what the fuck? A-are these w-wings!?” She asked. “Yes, they are…” He replied. He noticed her skin now being a flag. “You’re a country now…” He whispered. “How…?” She asked. “I don’t know.” He replied. “Can I touch your wings?” He asked. “Just be careful.” She replied, shuddering at the touch. “It’s nice.” She leaned closer, before getting picked up by America. “Let’s go back to sleep, we’ll deal with this in the morning.” He said, climbing into bed, still holding her close.
