Chapter 1: Introduction: Mydeimos.

Chapter Text

It was busy again, the usual case of being the CEO of Kremnos Corps. Hurried footsteps rushing in and out of offices. Yet the man with the lion maned hair and red tie could do nothing but bemoan in his chair as he stared at the large pile of files stacked right infront of him on his large desk.

Aeons, how he hated this godforbidden job.

It's not as if he had a choice, really, the pressure of his father and his company depending fully on Mydeimos to take Eurypon's position as CEO of Kremnos Corps. In full honesty, Mydei does not give a single shit about his tyrant father. The only reason he actually accepted this job, despite his stubborn nature, was because of his mother. Gorgo. The lionness, the woman who brought the company from bankrupcy just to plummet once again due to her passing. The last thing Mydei wanted was to let his precious mother's efforts go to waste.

So now, he sits in an office 9 to 5 every Monday to Friday with nothing to do on weekends from worklife sucking all the socialising self out of him. Mydei has friends ofcourse, but God forbid a man needs to catch up on his sleep.

As Mydei lay back on his chair and stared up at his ceiling for what felt like 30 minutes, his stomach makes a loud protest towards his hunger. Mydei reins his hands up to his face and drags them down slowly while still pulling at his cheeks downwards. Fucking hell he hated this so much. Atleast now he has an excuse to leave this somewhat of a prison. Mydei stands up from his chair, stretching himself from his stiff joints, picking up his black blazer and putting it on as he drags his body towards the office doors and exits out. Without even looking at his assistant, saying "Im off for lunch break, expect me back in 40 minutes." Mydei doesn't need to turn his face to see the nod, it's already become a boring routine that he strictly follows. Heading to the lift as he presses the button to the ground floor. The little ding! Sounds as he enters the lift. As the lift slowly moves downwards, Mydei contemplates what he will have for lunch.

'All of the cafés around here just do the same stuff everywhere. I swear to Aeons I have tried every single one of them since my mere year of working here at this God awful job and they all taste the same.' The inner chef in Mydei taking a huge crit hit from how little varietu there is in such a huge city of Castrum Kremnos.

Mydei loved to cook, that is no doubt. The talent and the aspiration, he has it both. The past him had his future set, to open his own restaurant and cook his delicious recipes so everyone can have a taste of everything. Mydei had it all planned. Until his mother died, and that was when it all went downhill. Forced to leave his plans behind, and repiece together the completed jigsaw that his mother had already completed until his tyrant father tore it apart once again. That man never learn, does he?

And here we are to the present. Mydei is browsing around the same streets he had walked several times and looking at the same shops and cafés. It was still the same, until he spotted a light blue amongst red banners and stalls. Mydei drew closer towards it, the colour unusual in such a red country, until he stood close enough to read the bright yellow sign.

'Elysiae bakes!'

'Elysiae bakes? This place must be new.' Mydei recalls there being a hairdressers here before until it closed down just a few months ago. Mydei didn't even scan the menu outside, already expecting the same stuff they do in all the other shops.

As Mydei steps in, he is immediately hit with a sweet aroma scent, just how he likes it. Mydei has a sweet tooth for such a stubborn man, how typical. Mydei glimpsed at the interior of the café, white tables and matching chairs all placed neatly around the space each decorates with colourful pillows and blankets giving an aesthetic vibe to the place. The sweet scent couldn't help but draw Mydei closer to the counter, scanning around the new café to see that it was empty. That was odd, it's lunchtime, shouldn't this be the prime time for a place like this? With so little customers, this could mean two things.

1. The café had literally just opened today

Or...

2. This place was terrible.

Now, Mydei knows not to judge a book by it's cover. Even if the interior and exterior are pleasantly decorates with beautiful flowers and bright colours, it's the actualy food that will bring the result out of the place. Mydei has entered many fancy looking restaurants before and came out severely disappointed. So he knows what he is in for.
As Mydei stands at the counter, a young pink haired woman quickly makes haste to move from behind the kitchen counter to greet him at the counter.

"Hello! Welcome to Elysiae bakes! What can I get for you?"

Only then did Mydei realise that he had focused too much on the cover for once instead of the book ,aka, the menu. Mydei tilted his head upwards to peer at the heavily decorated billboard listing all the different foods.

Mydei was took by surprise as he came across one dish he had not seen on a menu for a while.

'Golden honeycakes'

Oh, now he has expectations.

"I will have the golden honeycakes and pomegranate juice with milk." Mydei knows his order is unusual, like, pomegranate juice with milk?! Who is this guy?! As a certain blue haired man blurts those exact words from the kitchen, peering his head out to give an odd glare towards Mydei. The pink haired girl, Cyrene as it reads on her nametag, quickly turns around towards the blue haired man and shoos him off with her hands, his head disappearing along with those bright blue eyes. Cyrene turning around quickly back to Mydei with a large smile before continuing with "Anything else?" Mydei giving an odd look to the blue haired man before he looks back at Cyrene with "No that's everything." Cyrene taking a notepad and pencil from her matching pink apron pocket and scribbling down the items. Looking back up at Mydei (woah what a height difference there) questioning "sit in or take away?"
"Sit in" Mydei says immediately. Anything to keep him out of that prison called an office. "Your food and drink will be ready shortly, please take a seat anywhere you like" Cyrene finishes with a friendly grin before turning towards the open window between the counter and the kitchen to lay down the order to who seems to be the blue haired man.

'He better not fuck up, I have high expectations already. This is the first café I have seen in my own home city that sells those honeycakes.' Mydei thinks to himself as he sits down at a white table with pink and blue cushions.

Mydei didn't wait long before the blue haired man came out with the tray of food, flour dusted on his fingertips, setting it down on the table with the order in his hand. A questioning look on his face, reciting the menu to Mydei to make sure he got everything correct.
"So, golden honeycakes with pomegranate juice, and..milk? Is that correct?" As the man wearing a blue apron dusted in what seems to be flour sends a questioning look directly to Mydei as he returns it with a stern face. "Yes, that is correct." Mydei was thinking of adding on 'You can read, right? If it's written on the page then yes HKS!' but decided to save the man, Phainon as his nametag read, some dignity since this place seemed new.

The man's face then brightened up, 'This guy has to be related to that Cyrene girl, their smiles are far too bright for my dull world.', as he set down the tray and giddingly waved off with "Enjoy your food! Thanks for eating at Elysia bakery!"

That was then when Mydei solodified that he hated this man.

Hear him out first atleast, as he digs into his honeycakes. This 'Phainon' lad has got the full pack of what career Mydei wanted, and still yearns for even if he knows his current job is important and already solid as stone. This guy owns a bakery and is apparently the head chef. The man was so much happier than Mydei was, getting to persue his hobby into a career as well as having the opportunity to dance around the kitchen like it was a battlefield. Hell, even interact with others better! Instead of being stuck in an office all day, he could actually come in and out of the kitchen to serve other customers as well as interact with the pink haired 'Cyrene'. It's not even hate, it's just envy.

What's even worse is the fact that the honeycakes were delicious! This is not helping his case!

Mydei checks his watch, he has 15 minutes left of lunch break, he might as well walk about in the park so he can salvage the fresh oxygen while he has it. Mydei stands up from the white chair and takes a last sip of the pomegranate-juice-mixed-with-milk as he heads towards the door. Turning around to gruff a quick "Thank you" towards the kitchen as the pink haired and blue haired duo peek their heads out with matching grins harmonising "Thank you for eating here! Come again soon!"
