Summary

Summary
Anaxa feels haunted by his past when the younger brother of his former student Khaslana shows up to one of his classes one day. Khaslana's theory of a blank slate lays heavy on his conscience. Failing his prodigy, even after so many years, has changed him forever. He's grown older. Weary of letting another student stray from the light.
Anaxa won't fail his responsibility this time. No matter if he loses his mind as the memories of the past come back to violate him.

Summary
So Mydei watches Phainon slumber, for there is nothing else to do, or so he tells himself. Like this, he can observe all he wants, and the mermaid can’t make a fuss. He brings a gentle hand to tuck his bangs behind his ear, and traces his fingertips down his jaw.
Even if he finds Phainon irritating, even if he wishes to be alone, he can’t relinquish the fact he saved him. Found him in the dark abyss and plucked him from his grave. For that, he does not know if he should be grateful, but he knows he should be less harsh with him.
Mydeimos tries to find a cure for his terminally ill mother, Queen Gorgo, but attempt after attempt he fails. On his last chance, he captures a mermaid, a creature whose flesh should solve his woes, but he can't bring himself to kill and sets him free.
And when his father learns of such an act years later, he condemns him to drown in the same ocean where he enacted his betrayal, only to be saved by the very same mermaid who brings him to a secluded island to heal.
