HNN’s political correspondent talks for another minute before noticing that the broadcast ticker is filling with questions.

The officer does not move.
He doesn’t blink often enough for several viewers’ comfort.
The Chancellor turns and gestures toward him.
“The newly appointed Chief of Defense will oversee strategic coordination throughout the Grand Army of the Republic.”
The officer inclines his head.
He says nothing.
