Growing up Abolish was taught stories like any other child. How a series of horrible games would come and trap you in them if you didn't do what your parents said but Abolish thought that was a load of crap. As he aged to a teen Morcant would read him stories sometimes about the games.
Except in this version, what Morcant and the organisation called the true version, it was nightmare fuel.
About 18 competitors who were trapped in the games, how remembering them was a curse the creators of the games made. How violent it became.
Here’s how that story goes…
Long, long, long ago, in a time where the Watchers still visited the overworld, there lived a boy. An avian who became one of these Watchers but was their downfall in the end.
You see, most of the Watchers fed on negative emotions provided by humans. They lived in a time of peace so not many were felt as strongly as the Watchers needed.
So they devised a plan. They created a series on which it would generate horrid feelings for them to gorge themselves on. They would have to murder their friends and the winner of each round would remember all the hurt and pain they caused.
And then they would be brought back. And the cycle would start all over again.
The Listeners, who were the Watcher’s equals but with very different motives said the peace would break eventually and to not interfere with mortals but the Watchers didn't listen or care.
The avian from before, who became one of the Watchers despised this concept and when the plan was put into action he joined the games as well, forever claiming the title as the Watcher and God of Freedom. His sister, the Watcher and God of War followed his lead and joined in the second season.
All in all there were 10 seasons. Only 7 players ever got the misfortune of getting the crown. They claimed their titles as the Celestials.
Sun. The God of Freedom himself, Xelqua.
Stars. A flaming spirit who burned too bright.
Moon. The God of War, Xarus. She co-won with Stars as the rumors go.
Mars. A listener who joined Xelqua’s cause for the betterment of peace.
Earth. The first person who the Watchers targeted. They forced the role of villain upon him.
Pluto. A forgotten name usually but they still won nevertheless.
Comet. The man who won for his family’s sake.
The story travels off there as no one truly knows what happened after the tenth round. Who knows, maybe these Celestials still walk among humans, living their lives with the horrors they committed still ever present.
