Summary
As the last of the sunset bled across the horizon, Shen Qingqiu found himself pacing at the entrance way to the Bamboo House. He could hear the bamboo crack softly beneath the snow as the winter wind howl. It was the fourth day of Luo Binghe’s absence from the Bamboo Cottage and dinner had long since gone cold.
"Arf!" A sudden barking noise emerged.
Shen Qingqiu's eyes widened. His robes flared around him as he quickly moved.
"Arf—oomph!"
A small black blur was promptly smacked square in the face by the door that just flew open.
It tumbled backward into a drift with an indignant yelp before popping upright almost instantly, shaking off the collision as though nothing had happened.
Instead of fleeing, the little creature bounded enthusiastically straight back toward the open door and the lantern light.
"Arf!"
Shen Qingqiu froze.
A dog? There was a dog out In this weather?

I do love that this one time when SQQ recognizes Bingpup, it's actually not Binghe 😂 can't blame him tho - everything Xin Mo knows, he learned from Bingbing 🤣
Headcanon - if only SQQ treated Xin Mo like Xie Lian treats E'Ming, there would be no angst in svsss (E'Ming is not a bad boy tho-)
