Avery sighed as he logged into Minecraft. A friend of his had invited him to a hardcore server a month or so ago. He’d been hesitant, he hadn’t even touched the game since Derek had died after saving him from the king in yellow. He eventually agreed however, and was given the coordinates to a village awhile away from spawn where his friend had also set up base.
Once Avery got there he decided to walk around a bit before building. As he did, another person logged on who he didn’t know, called astrostar37. While he didn’t know them, Avery wasn’t surprised since it was a big server.
However while Avery was gathering wood he saw a flash of a red cape out of the corner of his eye sprinting past. He froze both in game and in real life for a moment before chasing them. The player had stopped by a lake, seemingly just thinking. While their username was still for sure astrostar37, they had d3rlords skin. Avery immediately placed a sign that read “voice chat 5 in the server discord”. The player read it, looked at him then nodded.
The second the two were in the voice chat Avery spoke, his voice shaking slightly “Derek?!”
“Avery you need to leave the server immediately” it was unmistakably Derek, though his voice sounded strained slightly.
“How are you alive?!” Avery ignored Derek’s worry, needing answers to his questions.
“You know, even with infinite knowledge, I can’t say I know.” Derek let out a bitter laugh. “Everything I know says I should’ve died after I merged with the king but I didn’t.”
“I have so many questions!” Avery was panicking slightly, though excited. “Why are you using an alt? Or is it a username hider?”
“It’s a username hider. As for why, roughly 23 million people saw that person, Wifies, video about that Minecraft world. They’d lose it if it was obvious I lived.”
“I… guess that makes sense.” Avery nodded to himself. “Why are you on this server specifically? Is that the same reason why you want me to stop playing on it?”
“Yes it’s related, but if I tell you, I know you’ll want to try and help me.”
“I already want to!” Avery immediately replies.
“… I knew you’d say that” Derek sighs. “Have you ever heard of the leviathan?”
